St Louis Cardinals WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!! Topic

This will bring back memories to a lot of folks. I've never seen or heard of so many people showing up early to see a guy take batting practice as they did for Big Mac. I'd almost be willing to bet that most of the folks in the park during his theatrics could care less if he was taking steroids. All they know for sure is that they were highly entertained...

Oakland realized he wouldn't ever be able to play 3rd. Toronto wants him as a 1st baseman.

7 years is scary and 129 million is a lot of money but DAMN! I'm excited. There's still a lot for Mo to do with the roster before spring training.

I think it's 119mil. Cards hold option on last year? Not too bad.

I think the no trade was a given for this type of contract. If that's true about the Cardinals holding the option for the last year then that's a little bit of a relief.

Brett Wallace has never seen a major league pitch. Besides, where were the Cardinals ever going to play him? Outside of Holliday and Bay this years free agent class was a little weak compared to some years.

still 7 years 119 mil. Albert Pujols money, for a player that is a step or so below Pujols.

Could you imagine?

Game 7 of the WS, bottom of the 9th, Cards trailing by 2, 2 outs...Pujols gets IBB...Holliday singles...then out of the dugout steps Big Mac to deliver the PH, series-winning HR.

Unlikely indeed...but it would be classic.

Unlikely is an understatement. LaRussa's man crush on Big Red will never die. The thought is ridiculous.
