I've seen ties where both guys are listed, and I've seen ties where only one guy was listed.

I've only seen both. I've never seen a tie and then 1 player taken away. On multiple occasions a player of mine has tied for an MVP award and both players are given credit for it. The last season in 1 of my worlds had 3 players tie for MVP and all 3 are listed as the winners. Seen it for Cy Young too.

I've been involved in two ties for awards in that league. One was for the Cy Young neal mentioned, where my guy was listed as winning the award and neal's guy was omitted. The other was for the MVP award where my guy was omitted.

That's weird. I've never seen someone omitted.

I wonder where Patrick has gone. He said he would answer questions for us!

So Patrick, what you are saying is Louie Ma at age 27 only needs one more MVP or 3 more All star games or 3 more silver sluggers to qualify? You know who I'm talking about ;). I mean who doesn't???

Sorry guys, I'm here. I'll be making a formal announcement on Tues. regarding the HOF (including the release date). Prior to that I'll take a look through this thread, compile all of the questions, and come up with answers and post them there.

The post will be ready in the early afternoon. Thanks to everyone who posted questions, suggestions, and kind words.

Yes, that would be correct, but only if he were to be apart of the Cincinnati MuckLucks.

Just saw this and I didn't read the whole thread but I am a little suprised and dissapointed that a lifetime Batting Average or OB% over a certain amount does not get an automatic nomination.

a high enough lifetime batting average combined with enough at bats will get a guy 3000 hits, boom he's nominated!!

Nomination doesn't matter. It's the vote that matters. Now, if you think about it, you're probably only going to get 2-4 per class. More nominations will probably even thin that out.

I hope Pete Rose will be signing autographs nearby!

True but a guy with 13 seasons and 6800 AB's who has a .331 lifetime average has only 2,250 hits.

3,000 hits has as much to do with longevity as it does excelence.

Hey Patrick,

I know you'll be making a formal announcement tomorrow. I just thought of one more question though.

In MVP voting, if an owner doesn't cast a ballot, the sim casts one for him. After the winner is announced, a breakdown of voting always adds up to 32 (I'm assuming this is true, and not that every owner in my world votes every season). Will the same hold true for the HOF? There's a lot of concern in this thread that some deserving players won't be voted in due to too many new owners not casting votes. But if the HOF works like MVP/Cy Young, that wouldn't be an issue if the sim submitted a ballot in place of owners that neglect to.
