Does that really erase his contract?  I'm not sure about that.

Every penny off the books, though the Hawks still need to pay him.

I'm loving these replacements for the departed demi-gods (said with sarcasm) so far.  Pisani and Potulny are solid and probably better than our 4th liners last season.  Skille has been flying and should slot nicely in Versteeg's spot.  I don't think Beach will make the club, but a year of seasoning in Rockford will do him good.  Stalberg hopefully with gel with the rest of the guys.  We have plenty of depth all around the forward spots too.  As for Turco....he's gonna make us all forget about Niemi with his play.  His puck-handling is incredible and he set up a big goal last night with it.  Crawford will be much better than Huet too.

I'm hoping I get a few more chumps.....err, I mean people who want to bet me they'll miss the playoffs.  My life revolves around sucker bets!!

I agree on Skille...He looks likes he's FINALLY ready to make the big jump...I've been a fan of his since his draft year but for whatever reason, he's always just missed the cut...this year, it looks like he's ready to go. He's a fantastic combination of size, speed and soft hands and I think he's got a realistic shot at 20 goals and 40-45 points in his rookie season. Alot of people tend to forget that he's a former 7th overall pick in a pretty good draft year (2005), ahead of guys like Anze Kopitar, Marc Staal, Tuukka Rask, T.J. Oshie and Devin Setoguchi.

Last year in particular, his contract contributed to him not making the team. He's only making 600K this season, which is very cap-friendly. He's gonna have to play terribly to be sent back to Rockford.

Dale Tallon may be gone, but he'll never be forgotten in Blackhawks lore.

The former general manager, who was replaced by Stan Bowman last summer and later left to join the Florida Panthers as GM, has had his named engraved on the Stanley Cup.

The championship trophy made a stop at O'Hare on Tuesday after arriving from Montreal where finishing touches were being made to the engraving.

Reading left to right on the Cup's bottom ring of champions' names, Tallon is listed after W. Rockwell Wirtz, John McDonough, Jay Blunk, Stan Bowman, Al MacIsaac, Kevin Cheveldayoff and Scotty Bowman and Tallon. Coach Joel Quenneville and his coaching staff, trainers and other team personnel and then the players themselves follow.

The Cup will be in the Chicago area Tuesday as it visits two youth hockey rinks in the Hawks' commitment to youth hockey in the community.

BONERTIME!

Well deserved for Tallon...He's starting with more assets in Florida so it'll be interesting to see what he does there. They have a decent amount of good youngsters but they're missing that "top draw" like a Toews or Kane. Frolik and Gudbranson are great cornerstones to build off of though.

Also, seeing a certain name in that list brings a trivia question to mind...which people on this list have ever led their team in scoring (points) in the regular season?

Well,  I know it wasn't Marc Bergevin!

But I will take a wild stab at Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa and Norm MacIver.

Dr. Michael Terry?
