I don't think it's that coldblooded.  Win or lose, he'll get his share of the $$ and a ring should they win.  This move is to add another defender/special teamer.   I don't think Gronk will be on any ST units.

Yeah, it's cold-blooded.   There's a difference between a paycheck/ring and actually playing in the game.   Maybe he wouldn't have even seen the field but he'd have been dressed.   Practice for two weeks then told "Yeah, you won't be participating."
