I am kind of baffled by so many saying  "no live".

This would be an OPTION. If you don't want to play live that's your business, but why be against other owners'  choice to play live if they want to?

because i don't want to loose the team i've built for 15 seasons because the owners in my world wanted to try it

seriously...who the F would want this, have you even thought about how this could be administered?  Would you change the world schedule to only sim 1 game/day instead of 3...or are people going to get up in the middle of the night to manage a game?  what about people from oversee's that play?

Uh, you don't have to play live games in SLB and they have three games scheduled per day.   It's just an option.   Why would you have to get up in the middle of the night to play a HBD game?

Someone please explain this to me.  Is it not an advantage to play a live game against simmy? Or are you just as likely to shoot yourself in the foot with your moves?

You wouldn't be playing simmy.  You'd be playing the other owner.   Even WifS wouldn't allow one user to play a missing user live.

Ah I see.  I take back my amen brotha.  Still I don't care to see them prioritize live play.

My biggest "problem" is that I think most of the people on either side of the fence have no idea how it would have to be played or the ramifications of it.  

Because of the half-cycles, waivers, deadlines, etc, etc., you can only play 1 game of a series each half cycle.  You can't play any games out of sequence.  And, as you now know, you can only play if the other owner agrees to it. 

I think the "LIVE, HELL YEAH!!!" people think they can sit down and play 7-15 games at a time.   They can't if HBD is to remain true to form.

Because the AM1 cycle is at 3:00 where i come from!  i've never played SLB, so obviously i don't understand how they could accomodate the schedules of 32 owners, while like you said, continuing the normal day to day scedule of HBD (half-cycle's, etc.).

I think that the live discussion is moot. There is just no way to make that work and yeah it might be fun to try out but really I don't have the time to play live games in 4-5 worlds every day. I have work and family and other stuff going on.

One thing I would like to see is more advertisement and a better effort to in bringing in more players to help with the slow roll-overs. I would bet you that a few bucks to a couple of popular baseball blogs here and there would bring in a nice draw. Blogs more advanced stat based. I first found this site because of AG.com(aarongleeman.com) while he was trying to find players for one of his worlds. If I did not see this website there I would have never found it. Basically a little marketing can go a long way.

Here's a good one that's ****** me off more than once.  If someone puts in an offer to a free agent and then withdraws it, why does the FA have to keep his demands high longer?  That can lead to dickweeds keeping the asking price for free agents artificially high by doing that, for heaven knows what reason.

Is this the case even when someone else offers and withdraws, or does your own previous offer just stay in the fields (that's something I've been asking them to change for several years, but they never seem to understand what I've explained)? Either way, this is problematic.
