No problem I only play you twice. If several others jump ahead I'm forming a coalition against them. Just a warning for them to stay away. I got your back.
This is OK in good fun, but do be careful not to veer into actual collusion.
yes - why do we have brianjw's back?......
Is it really collusion to point out what's hapenning and suggest a course of action? I'm definitely doing that if numerous owners jump ahead beyond reasonable risk, those who play it safe have the right to defend their interests. Not likely to succeed against one person, "having his back " was supposed to be funny.
this draft is stressing me out!

In re-reading the rules I don't see anything preventing owner-alliances or owners getting organized to try to impact outcomes in the draft. It's not a strategy that I was leaning on, but I could see how it could make things interesting, and can see how it's starting to evolve into that kind of draft.

Do this mean teams drafting 1-4 are one division, 5-8 another, etc.?

And am I placed based on my original spot, or the one I swapped with discodemo?
Yes its based on the actual drafting position according to the description at the bottom of the OP about division alignment.

I would think since its based on drafting position, you would be placed accordingly in the draft position you started out as (i.e. #9 in the NL West).
That answer actually confused me. I started out #21 and swapped to #9. So "the draft position (I) started out as" would be #21 and not #9, even though I've drafted 9th throughout.

I was giving away my analysis because I don't believe in risking a 100-point penalty based on the whims of the other owners, I hadn't considered collusion. Now that it's been mentioned, coordinating picks would be collusion., Discussing strategy is not collusion.

"Started out" does not mean where you were slotted after randomization, it was meant where you made your first round selection.

I'd say I'm in agreement with rbow923 on this point.

I am too. Talk at the board is fair game. I wouldn't even object to coordinating picks, if it's done in public. Of course, I might not like the resulting penalties I end up with. But if that happens, I'd think I'd been beaten fair and square. These drafts boards are not places where people just announce their picks and wait for their next draft slot. Chatter is part of the game, and if you get beat by chatter, you got beat.
