Update on Grand Theft Motto -

With 26 games left to play, we are now 84-52 and look almost (knock on wood) sure of reaching 90 wins. The team goes through real peaks and valleys depending on the catcher arms, and after having a few great 10+ net SB games in a row, have now faced the A+ arm stretch of the schedule where I'm getting between -2 and 2 net SB per game. Currently sitting at 682 net, which puts me on pace for about 812 by season's end. Hoping I'm getting those pesky A+ arms out of the way so my team can run down the stretch.

Also would be remiss to not stress enough how much my pitchers overperforming has helped me (hopefully) secure the 90 wins with a little breating room, particularly the starting rotation.

My BLM team (that currently holds the SB bounty) just finished an 11-2 postseason run, sweeping the LCS and WS. Outscored the opposition 74-42 and a net 67 SB (81-14).

Bottom line - these speed teams are GOOD in an OL.

This was also another example of a team posting the best W-L% during the regular season and going on to win it all. We hear so many stories about playoff upsets that I thought this was worth noting.

It is amazing to me to see you be that dominant with that kind of middle infield defense That'll change some of my thinking for sure

It is part of what is fascinating about the bounty system just4me has set up. Normally I would agree with you about IF defense (Wills and Raines combined for about 80 bad plays, defined as (errors + minus plays) - (plus plays)). But they also provided about 250 net steals. That's a pretty good ROI.

Another way to look at this team: the offense was incredibly efficient. They hit very few doubles (only 4 teams hit fewer); very few HR (only 3 teams hit fewer), drew 433 walks (league average was 473), and had a below average team OPS (.702 compared to .706).

Yet they still finished 4th in runs scored, with 855. League average was 760, and the highest scoring offense was 895.

I didn't keep track of (and am too lazy to go back and look at it in detail) but I bet we played > .750 ball against teams with D+/D/D- arms. Just checking one team that platooned a pair of D- catchers, we went 10-2 against them. In those 12 games we stole 118 bases and were caught 9 times.

The SB is probably my favorite of all the bounty teams and why I keep trying them. My 3rd attempt is under way, and though we’re off to a poor 0-5 start (and only net 7SB) we’ve faced an A+ and A- catchers and so will hopefully find some more success soon. I went a different approach in this team and I’m already having some buyers remorse ha

So many new one-team accounts at WIS with very strong political opinions. Why don't you guys (if you are indeed plural, and not the same troll) stick to the Non Sports forum with this stuff?

Did you pay for that one team, or was it a promo deal?

Also, why don't you talk politics with your real account? Nobody wants to debate an alias.

Agreed. I've got 2 more underway (probably my last two, given the 12/31 deadline). Neither is off to a strong start, but in both cases I am going with a slightly different approach. The number of A+ arms you face is obviously a huge unknown variable.

Page 1 updated... and I love how successful these SB teams have been in the win column and playoffs, as well.

Division series started today. We're up 1-0 after a solid 8SB 9-3 win.

Despite 16SB in game 4, we were eliminated from the playoffs yesterday. Bullpen gave up 8 runs in the 8th/9th to lose an otherwise dominant game
