If you guys get a chance, check out one of the YouTube videos on Bobby Shantz (his 1952 season does very well in here). What a gentleman! Wikipedia has a good write-up on him as well. He's over 100 years old now and going strong. He married the former Shirley Vogel in January of 1950 - and she's still alive as well! They just celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary four days ago. Some other interesting tidbits about him: Shantz became the last surviving player who played for the Philadelphia Athletics after the death of Bill Harrington in 2022, and the last living player to debut in MLB in the 1940s after the death of Tommy Brown in 2025. Shantz is the last living player to have played for long-time MLB manager Connie Mack. Following the death of Art Schallock in March 6, 2025, Shantz became the second-oldest living MLB player after Bill Greason, and the oldest living World Series champion
