Anyone else hearing the Hawks may bring back John Madden? It was reported by John Jaeckel on hockeybuzz. I'm not sure how I feel about that as I didn't see much of Madden this season. Does he still have enough in the tank to be an effective 3rd line C?

Madden is good checking centre,at a reasonable price he is effective, plus he is Kane's Limo buddy..

I've not heard that, but I don't think he'd fit, cap-wise.

Is there any doubt? Luongo blows ..what a joke..the guy is the biggest fraud who has ever lived..f#ck luo!!

As of June 12 - eklund reporting a 65% chance Kopecky is in Winnipeg next season (10% he is a hawk). 30% chance Madden is in Chicago, 30% he goes to Nashville.

Inspired by moy's post in the Flyers thread, here's my wishlist for the Hawks.

Re-sign Brouwer, Frolik, Campoli, Stalberg and Dowell.
Sign FAs Joni Pitkanen, John Madden and Matt Bradley
Trade Brian Campbell and a first round pick in 2011 to anyone for nothing (maybe a late draft pick or low level prospect)

Lines would look like this -

Brouwer - Toews - Kane
Kruger - Sharp - Hossa
Bickell - Bolland - Frolik
Bradley - Madden - Stalberg
Dowell, Smith

D pairings-

Keith - Seabrook
Pitkanen - Hjalmarsson
Campoli - Leddy
Scott

Goalies -

Crawford
Salak

I like pitkanen a lot. I think a lot of teams will too.

Indeed...watching him at the World Juniors I thought he was a future Norris winner, but the injury he sustained in Philly and subsequent trade derailed his career a little. FYI, in my roster, I had him pegged for a 5 mil. cap hit which is where I think he'll end up at the high end, and it fit according to capgeek (with the Campbell trade afcorse).

I heard that too.  That gives the Hawks over 11M to spend as it stands now.  The new TV deal is what made the difference.

That should help you guys re-sign guys like Brouwer, Frolik, and Stalberg.  .... and the flyers to sign an actual Goalie.  I could cry I'm so happy lol.

Unfortunately, it's gonna help the choking dog cheapshot bastard Canucks as well.

Yeah but they give us so much joy when they inevitably choke, having the same talent will keep them from using that as an excuse (though we know they'll try).
