Good list. I would have to put Garage a Trois - Power Patriot on there
I listened to selections from the top 5 on this list.
5) AC provided some interesting sonic collages that would be good to drive or smoke dope to...and at least some decent production...
4) Anyone who can buy a Casio keyboard at Costco, and lay some reverb drenched chants over some stock loops can sound like Spirit Spine...boring and lo-fi.
3) Sunset Rubdown was interesting for the psychedelic vibe...and a semblence of production...whether it would be interesting on a second listen is open to debate.
2) RAA...this was indie slacker **** at its....uh, slackerest??? Count me out.
1) RPC...the moment of my most needing was the realization that I never needed to hear this **** again...get together 10 of your friends...all of them will have better voices than Chris Eaton...have those same friends scratch their fingernails on a chalkboard
and they will still sound better than Eaton. Listen to their screams as they thrust knitting needles into their ears and...well, you get the picture.
Maybe next year will be a better music year...
