#10 PG, #47 Overall, ****; no promises. Charles Bane wasn't exactly my first choice (a foreigner, who was riskier but who probably had a higher ceiling), but he was in the top 5 or so of guys I wanted for the PG position. He'll be riding the bench for a year and basically becoming an Abraham Hodges clone, with slightly worse rebounding and ballhandling. Not a likely pro, but a perfectly decent pass-first PG.

#15 SG, #148 Overall, ***; no promises. I really like Michael Holcomb's potential. I think he's going to develop into a really great DI guard for me. It'll take a year or two to see him blossom, of course, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if he winds up good enough for the pros. It depends on just how high that potential is for his athleticism and speed. His rebounding is already at a good enough level that it's reasonably strong for his position.

#18 PF, #69 Overall, ****; no promises. Terry McClure will be seeing the floor this year, due to my limited stable of big men, but he could use some work on his rebounding. His low post rating will never be great, but I'm hoping that he makes up for it enough in other ways to offset the lack of finesse. Not a likely candidate for the NBA.

Anyways, I got the guys I needed without a problem. I missed out on one I wanted, but I didn't know how good he'd be, really. I would have gone for Yazzie but I'd figured that there'd be more interest in him. Either way, as it turns out, I would've had to butt heads with a friend, with more open scholarships and more postseason success (at my expense), and I had another option available so it wasn't worth it.

Grade: B+

I got my targets but this isn't exactly a group that is NBA ready. They'll all be very good collegians, I think.

The one I missed out on:

I'm not sure what his potential would be. Perhaps gopokes24 can enlighten me.
6/12/2009 6:05 AM
Based on evaluations on Amedee, I would say his potential looks like this:

ATH - Average

SPD - High

REB - Low

DEF - Unknown

SB - Low

LP - Average

PER - High

BH - Average

PAS - Unknown

STA - High

FT - Low

He will be a borderline NBA prospect I think. At this point, I definitely see him staying 4 seasons.
6/12/2009 12:53 PM
ah, so better rebounding and perimeter shooting and FT shooting than my guy, but worse athleticism. Defense may or may not be a wash. Well, I'd prefer the foreigner, but I'm fine with whom I got.

Well, well, well - guess who's recruiting class was just ranked #11 by CollegiateInsider.com? Nice job! Everybody in the Athletic Department is really excited - I think I'm even getting the administration behind what you're doing. Keep up the good work!

Nice! That raises my estimation of the recruiting up to at least an A-.
