I find it funny that seble doesn't have time to update the NBA sim, but he has time to delete my post that perfectly outlined the utter disappointment of the true, diehard customers that still exist....but that's another feather in the cap isn't it seble/tinman/WIS?

Acknowledging how far you've fallen and how much you've promised and not produced is feedback, whether you'd like to hear about it or not.

Glad to see he is keeping busy with something other than trying to determine his head from his *** (a worthless cause). Found this in the College HD Forum.

Forum Posts: 3543 I thought I'd start a quasi-blog here about what's happening with development for HD. I'll try to post something here somewhat regularly when there is significant active development happening. I'll keep this thread locked to keep things clean, but feel free to start a new thread for discussion about any posts made here.

As I've mentioned before in various spots, the next release will be huge, including several key areas of the game. The SimEngine is being translated to a new programming language and so it's pretty much a rewrite. Some of the logic will remain the same, some will be tweaked, and some will change more significantly. It's a little early to say what will change and what won't, but our focus area is emphasizing individual matchups more. This process will most importantly give me a complete understanding of the SimEngine and allow for easier improvements in the future.

One change that I want to mention is that durabilty will play a bigger part in injuries in the next SimEngine, so plan accordingly. You may want to start looking harder at durability. We're not planning on drastically changing the frequency of injuries, but we do want durability to be meaningful.

Another key target is recruit creation. We're changing the methodology there to allow for more variability in player quality, making truly elite players stand out more. This will inevitably involve a lowering of ratings across the board in order to keep the 1 to 100 scale. So there may be some growing pains at first as new players may not be quite as good as in the past, but in the long run it will make things better. Another result of the changes will be more unique players, where they're not tied so much to a traditional mold. So you should see more perimeter big men for example.

We're also revamping the top 25 ranking system along with the tournament selection/seeding process. I know there has been some disconnect between the two and we're trying to bring them more in line.

It's important to let you guys know that we are working to improve the game and we're targeting the areas that generate the most feedback.

Thanks.

Forum Posts: 3543 I should also mention a timeline: we're probably looking at 2-3 months before this release is ready as we want to thoroughly test it beforehand. We'll be asking for testers in a month or so probably.

Well, there goes HD...if Scott's changing it more so he can BETTER UNDERSTAND THE GAME....look out, this thing is already swirling in the bowl...I was referencing this statement by uneble...

been here awhile, started out in baseball (got lucky once), always read the forums. starting to think this sim is big corp since fox bought this site. $$$ in all fairness seble may have his hands tied. may be multi-tasking. i have asked personal questions and received responses. maybe if the basketball sim generated more $$$ they would treat us equeally?

ok, so it's ok to outright lie to us because we're not filling their bankroll as much as baseball?

Thus the Catch 22...if the NBA sim was better, paid attention to, then more people would play...I remember this game back in its hey...there were quite a few people playing....now I feel bad for the guys who are still around, without any offense towards them.

I know you guys are feeling neglected, but come on. We're all working hard here whether you believe that or not. I wish you could appreciate that more time and analysis has been spent on the NBA SimEngine than any of our other SimEngines. It is our most mathematically sound and complete SimEngine. We're never going to please everyone because everyone has different expectations. This is meant to both simulate theoretical games between theoretical teams as well as allow for some level of user control. There is randomness involved as there has to be. If the outcome of every game was completely predictable then what would be the point of playing leagues? It would be all about who can draft the best. And it's not just randomness for the sake of randomness. Every bit of it is weighted by player stats and coaching settings.

As I've said repeatedly, I may not be actively posting in this thread, but we will be using it to shape future changes. So please don't expect me to be actively posting in here. If you feel the need to vent your frustration please keep it out of this thread as it's intended for useful conversation about improving the game.
