I'm a bit nervous about my teams, given what seems like a tough division draw. The last two seasons I did pretty well with players who were high volume in useful stats and great D, but maybe not the most efficient. Like Timmy, Dr J, the Glove, so much Mookie. I *believe* I had the best regular season D last year or thereabouts, at least by allowed EFG.
Getting Shaq at #8 was basically the dream for me, and the teams I built around him are drastically improved in shooting (both EFG and distribution) and TOs, I expect to be around top 5 in both. As stated, Lillard was an ideal pairing and I'm not mad about Ibaka or JAllen either, or anyone else especially either, not even Conley. I also think my 4th and 5th best teams fall off less compared to previous years.
In the process though I lost a lot of assists - fine - but also defense, which is more concerning, though still league average or so I think. Oh and steals. I worry those "supporting" stats were what has been propping up consistently meh rebounding (121.7% cREB this season on avg), though my squads this season aren't really any worse at it than my last two entries (123.4% and 116.7%). I feel like one way or another I'm about to get some juicy data points regarding what does and doesn't play in Savage.
All that said, I'm holding out hope that things work out, and if they do I'll feel pretty darn vindicated about my preferred team building methods.
3s and dunks baby.
