How's everyone loving their team? I've been pretty busy with stuff and trying to build my own team that I haven't looked very closely at anyone else. I should have time of the next few days.

Who are we scared of... besides Rob I assume
My team is pretty meh, IMO.

PG: Simmons/Dejounte
SG: Lillard
SF: Horford/Gordon
PF: Jordan/Bogut/Nurkic
C: Parish/Bogut/Nurkic/Horford (all sorts of hodgepodge backup minutes here that I haven't sorted out yet)

Probably not enough defense, and while my team efg% is pretty good, my FT shooting is pretty brutal and will drag down efficiency across the board (as will turnovers). But I think rebounds and assists are fine, fouls should be fairly low. I'm not expecting much.

Rob's always so negative on his teams. Gotta take it with a huge pile of salt. Meanwhile I am always very optimistic and just shrug off criticisms like "bad at drafting after the sixth" though I guess I have taken some of that feedback to heart.

I agree about Ben's squad looking terrifying. I'm just skimming names but I'll add that dh and ty look pretty good. Looking forward to getting more into the weeds - there's some interesting starts which I have to give A Closer Look. Too many to name.

Oh man, my team stinks this go around! Ben's look's excellent so far. I like pex and rubnsly as well.
You don't expect us to buy this, do you?
It’s definitely not how I typically like to build a team and I like several teams more than mine. The last time I had this many picks swiped from under me it was the one time I didn’t finish in the top 5 since S2. I don’t see it being a contender personally.

I questioned the Simmons pick at the time but in that context it looks good. Gordon has a great SG season.

I’ve learned to never doubt you at this point.

Taking Simmons instead of Oscar was my biggest mistake. I think Oscar would have allowed a lot more flexibility for the rest of the draft.

I won't say I'll never take a pure 100% center in the first round again, because if the value is there, I'll do it, but it's been so frustrating drafting around it. I then compounded the problem by taking a tier 5 usage shooting guard (who doesn't rebound or pass, btw), so now I need very specific type players to make it work, ending up passing on obvious stronger players in favor of a specific type. IE exactly how you build a Savage Dud. The builds are okay, but I know I'm getting smashed this season.

I'm ready to hit the skip button & start Savage 14.

Don’t you need to do 50 different builds first?

Probably only be able to do 8 or so. Too many combinations have to go together to work at all for much variance.

Pretty surprised with how much I was able to improve my defense with late round picks. Walker Kessler/Dan Roundfield/Okongwu/Pressey in the 8th-11th is something I’m pretty happy with, considering who my 1st-7th round picks were. Those new player seasons really helped the depth of player pool quite a bit. It’s a lot different than Savage I, that’s for sure.

I put this in the wrong forum earlier:

I am cautiously optimistic:

PG: Rondo/Porter/Bane/PatBev
SG: Green/Bane/Looney
SF: Brand/Looney
PF: Jokic/McAdoo
C: Drummond/McAdoo

I feel like I covered the rebounding issue from the last Savage. My defense stinks compared to many, but I didn't go stupid on assists at least.

I almost picked Pressey instead of Dejounte Murray in the 7th. If I end up with not enough defense, I'll regret passing on him. I just couldn't quite stomach the turnovers, fouls, and iffy eg%

Yeah he has some warts, but I’m going to treat him like a luxury instead of a need and just play his 2-3 best seasons as spot minutes to fill out my Kyle Anderson/Batum rotation.

Not saying I made the right move, that’s yet to be seen. Spending a 5th/7th/11th on one position and not having any studs there seems like an iffy move, but I think they all compliment Harden well. I was looking at Dejounte too, he’s legit.

I wasn’t a big bill bridges fan last time but this does seem really late for him to go.
