They'll send you a kit in the mail where you take a cheek swab and send it back. They'll contact you down the line if you are a match to donate bone marrow to someone who needs it. The odds of being a match aren't that high, because the odds of finding a match aren't that high. But if you sign up for the bone marrow registry you can claim moral superiority because you're going to be theoretically helping out cancer kids.
