So HR starts its World Series off with a 16 inning bullpen-killing showdown. That's nice.

Hate that they brought my next scheduled starter in as a relief pitcher that game, so he's not at 100% going into Game 2.
Do you have him set to be able to pitch in relief?

I always let certain guys get winded, maybe because I don't set up for much in-game rest.  Then there's GillyMac, who does not understand the concept of fatigue.  I need to lead him off every game for a season and take a run at the Plate Appearances record.

Holy crap.  16 inning game to start off the HR WS.  Pretty amazing game b0t.
Ingram was balls out like Cru Jones. That was nice.

Wasn't happy when I saw they took Anthony Stein out for a pinch-runner with two outs and him at first base... Then of course the guy running from him went first to third and I nearly forgave the sim.
Yeah, Jacobs got taken out too.  I play sort of aggressive with my pinch hitting and running in the playoffs though.  Lots of walks (intentional and otherwise) that game as well.

How's your bullpen look after that game? Mine isn't actually that poor off, but it'll be tested because Newson doesn't have the stamina to go deep in the next game.
I have one at 99, another at 4.  Everyone else at 100.  Cervantes isn't a long IP guy either, but I have 2 LRs, 2 SUs and my Closer ready...  plus a scrub I am resting until I get desperate.

I really keep my playoff IP down to just a few guys, so extra inning games don't hurt too much because guys are usually pretty rested.

Having the bye and only losing one game leading up to the series helped as well.

I checked that box in case I needed him to come in during the pivotal games agains VD in the NLCS. I know I forgot to uncheck it, but I'm still surprised they went with him ahead of the other guys available.
Rookie mistake.

I'm about the same. I don't think anyone there is too fatigued not to be able to pitch this next game.

I've always been aggressive pinch-hitting. I didn't change the pinch-running settings because for the most part, all but two guys are decent at it in my starting lineup, and didn't feel like the gain of one of my speedy bench dudes would outweigh whatever loss in the field or at the plate I'd incur.

But I always pinch-hit aggressively in most worlds. The simulation never takes into account real-life averages in pinch-hitting situations and just considers the list of best available by situation, so pinch-hitting is a lot more successful in the sim than in MLB.
I usually have a really specialized bench, with 1-2 hitter, 1-2 runners and like 2 defensive guys...  so after a couple swaps, it ceases to be that useful for me...  which is why I only bust it out in the playoffs.

My bench for this series is:

C Brinkley - Okay bat. Not the best defensive catcher. More of a reserve in case of injury to Borges.
SS Terrell - Four time gold glover and defending Gold Glove winner in the NL. Great defensive replacement.
SS Patterson - Utility player who could probably start for half the league. Decent enough bat.
SS Davis - Another utility guy who can play plus defense at pretty much every position, and has a high pitch-calling in case he needs to step in as a catcher.
2B Franco - High range, high speed.
2B Lee - Great defensively, great contact, good eye. Actually played this past game and scored a couple runs.

Heh.  I was just complimenting your bench in a TC.

I never usually mess around with the boxes to check for starter/reliever, so I didn't even think to make sure that was in line before game one. But honestly, it wouldn't have made much of a difference. They guys who would have come in aren't better. And Newson's still a 93 going into Game 2. That's not so bad.
