He's obviously been mulling this over a bit.

You didn't see 2 of the top 3 picks in the draft. Likewise, other teams didn't see some of the top guys on your draft list. When you look at it that way, it all evens out in the end.

So, if you tell me that I'm going to see the top 200 prospects from every draft, would you like to guess how much I'll put into college/HS scouting
Exactly. Another example that some things cannot mirror RL for gaming purposes.

first of all no it doesn`t secondly your missing the point.
My 1st year i signed a big IFA.By year 2 he is a ML all star, silver slugger and gold glove winner. In year 2 i had the 1st pick and settled for a 5 inning starter or RP and didn`t even know about 2 of the 3 best players.
If the max you can spend on C and HS scouting is 40M and you spend 36 and can`t get reports on even the top players but you can spend 20M on prospects and transfer another 20 to spend 30 on IFA and get a franchise player then that leads to IFA being a better way to build.
So my point is if they make it to where IFA is a better way to build a team than the draft then don`t cry about people taking advantage of it.
If they want to fix the problem great but fix the real problem that they created don`t put a band aid on ia broken arm.

Do you think you see every IFA if you put 20m in international scouting?

Do you think the 3rd pick in a HBD draft is some slug who'll never develop into a BL player?

ive seen years where no "All-star" intls come out

Okay, this appears to be getting a little closer to whatever your point is, but it still is far from clear. Evidently somebody criticized you or your buddy for "taking advantage" of something related to IFA's, and you're trying to respond.

I'm guessing you might have a point somewhere in all that but unless you drop the sarcasm and speak clearly no one will ever know what it is. And soon will become bored with the obscurity in your posts.

I don`t know who you are or where your under various names comment comes from because i have never posted before under any name.
Nobody has criticized me for taking advantage of anything.
I just heard about the new limit today and was forwarded the thread to read about and posted my thoughts.
if you don`t agree fine but i`m not sure how much clearer i can type simple words or what your having so much trouble following but let me try again.
I don`t think the new "fix" for IFA budgets is a good thing because i don`t think it fixes the real problem that caused people to over spend on it.

I hope that is clearer for you.

p.s. Line spacing helps

Paragraph breaks are your friend.

Sorry.

I`m better with math and baseball than whatever that class i was supposed to learn that other stuff was.

English. It's rather useful in this country(excluding Miami).

Can you really not understand what he is saying? He has a valid point.
People want to rebuild their teams and if the draft is unrealiable but the ifa market is booming more owners will use that money there.

I don't agree with not making my bl team as good as it can be and spending $100 and a real life year tanking is dumb. But teams will do it with a smaller ifa budget. Even fixing the draft pool scouting won't really help, just cut the $$ spent on ifa's.
1/21/2010 5:12 PM
capping money spent on IFA's only helps the better teams. The point of IFA's and the draft is to get the bad teams competitive again. the worst team is out 4 million minimum on their #1 draft pick. that puts them in the hole on the IFA market.

Your problems seem to be more with tanking than the international market
