I'm interested to see how much Bonds drives up the Giants' Outfield Unit since the rest of the unit sucks...

gotta think bonds wins several HR titles/MVPs combined - along w/ some all star games that's worth some cash even without considering how much he helps you win

will I get fined for submitting a redundant bid the same minute as another?

You can't really control a tie.

your fine will be doubled for asking about your violation. bid all your available funds before penalties!!!!!

What jonas1102 said must be true. And I thought the 'fines' were for bids (or bidding behavior) that led to the auction being messed up - e.g., putting in bids for two different sets of SPs. There's no way that putting in a bid for the same price as what someone else put in could possibly lead to any later confusion. It's obviously invalid, so no one is harmed by it.

Yeah, I already saw that.  There's no way you could possibly know someone else is putting in the same exact bid at the same exact time.  The second bid is obviously invalid but there's no fine involved.

The umdterp IF bid issue, however, is under investigation.

All right, it looks like we have a fairly good sized mess on our hands here.  We've had 2 situations today and here's the upshot:

1.  The case of the two simultaneous bids (abfball60) is no big deal.  The second 12 M deal will be listed as invalid and there is no fine.  There were two bids on the unit after that, both of which have been recognized as valid.

2.  As for the second case (umdterp), it appears we have an illegal bid, as umdterp was leading on the Yankees infield and bid on San Diego.  Toddleduc then saw he was beat on San Diego and bid on San Francisco, creating a mess.  Here's where we are:

A)  umdterp's bid on the Yankees would have held, but he's since been outbid.  That bid (kneeneighbor) now leads the Yankees bidding fair in square.
B)  umdterp's bid of 8M on San Diego is invalid (any possible fine will be announced later), as is toddleduc's raise of 9M.  The reason for this is since toddleduc put in the last legitimate bid at 6M and the bid of 8M is invalid, he'd have no reason to raise his own bid.  So his bid of 6M at 1:15 A.M. is the leader right now.
C)  Similarly, toddleduc's bid on SF of 9M and tarheel's subsequent raise to 10M have been invalidated.  Toddleduc had led on an IF unit and bid on another (through no fault of his own and is not subject to fine), so that bid is out, as is tarheel's subsequent raise.  So tarheel1991's bid of 7M at 9:12 A.M. this morning is the leader.
D)  I reserve the right to keep SF's IF unit open past 24 hours depending on the circumstances.
E)  I should have the full list of invalid bids on the list within the next few minutes.

Any questions, sitemail me.

DId anybody delete a bid today?
11/9/2010 11:21 PM
Uhh, umdterp just bid $11M on SD and then deleted and switched to $38M on Seattle.  As the leader on Seattle IF, I am none too pleased.

This is really starting to tick me off.  Just play by the rules, guys.  This is hard enough as is.
11/9/2010 11:28 PM
I think umdterp owes like $50M in fines.
11/9/2010 11:28 PM
Nobody owes anything until I figure out exactly what happened.
