I also think my builds are done - but may tweak. Here's a light eval.
After some top 5 or so teams the last few seasons I felt like I couldn't keep doing the great D, low fouls and TO's with solid boards at the expense of offense if I want to win it. I was hoping to get around the spot I drafted in to get a big that would fit that. The draft worked out that I got my 1st choice of that group, but probably the worst draft value. Kareem, Robinson, Gobert, Shaq are all somewhat similar. So Ash getting Shaq at 12 and having the earlier 2nd and 3rd round round picks I think is much better value. I like his Holiday and Wood pairing better and would have traded my 1st 3 for his I think.
Stockton was definitely not the plan, really had hoped Kyrie would still be there but midge would not allow that. A very high TO team to start and Stockton gives the Howard rebounding advantage right back. But they can shoot for sure. Valanciunas was another great shooter and my way of leaning into a strength rather than trying to cover up a TO weakness. With Howard the boards should still be good even with Stockton. Tatum was a tough one. I thought hard about Wallace, he has some perfect stockton compliment seasons. But I've had him before and remember being really happy with 2 of the seasons (best 90 D and the super 100 D part time season) but the rest are pretty meh. Tatum gives the same boards and better shooting and usage. The usage part freeing me up to go for the low usage, rim running defenders by committee at SF. Andersen was early, but he's the best per minute of the SF style. Gafford is a pretty good defender and incredible eFG. Not a lot of minutes there, but Howard, Stockton, Tatum and Jonas had a enough for me to pivot at this point. Ayton is a Valanciunas back up, he's fine. Middleton will back up Tatum and start one season. I think I'm going to regret the Moon pick. I had one season that needed boards and D at SG and he has that one season that fits so nice. He just doesn't do much else, it's his 92 D and 25 creb at SG. TO's are low, but he's only 14 usage. I'll need 5 seasons of Ratliff coming off the bench at SF and a little PF, which I can't image is a good thing. 5 seasons of Baron Davis behind Stockton is also a little scary. Tyrus Thomas is one last desperate attempt to add FC defense. Pay not attention to his FP48.
I'd like to think I have enough D, blocks and boards combined with my improved shooting to compete. I have a few teams with ~ 75 D for starters and almost 70 D for the whole squad. With good boards and TS% over 63. But also teams that average fouls over 4.5 p48 and TO% over 15.
