Frolik is a steal at that cap # in relation to what other and lesser free agents have gotten this off-season. 

I can't wait to collect that $100 moy is gonna owe me.  I told a couple of my Hawks pals about the bet and they openly laughed out loud at it.  Every national hockey scribe is amazed at how well the Hawks have done this off-season and are predicting the to finish in the top 3 in the West.  I should have gone for more.

Are they the same hawks fans that said the hawks will be top 3 last season? You should find smarter people to validate your opinions.

I was right about the hawks finishing 6-10 last season.... I was right about the hawks dealing Campbell..... I was right about them shipping off Brouwer for nothing in return..... I'm gonna be right about the hawks being an 8-12 team this season. They are flat out worse this season than last.

Can't wait to say I told you so ;)

I've never been one to bet ont his site, but I'll make one exception...I'll put 50$ on the line moy...if you really believe what you're saying, I'll put up 50$ that the Hawks finish in the top 7, and you can have 8-12. There is absolutely no way, barring injuries to 4-5 players at the same time, for significant periods of time, that they are a bottom-half-of-the-west team. To make it interesting, let's add a second condition to the bet: I'll say that they finish in the top 7 AND that Michael Frolik scores 20 goals this season. 25$ on each. Whaddya say?

To be clear, if more than 3 of Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Keith and Seabrook are out simultaneously for a lengthy period, then I would agree. If this team is reasonably healthy though, I'm betting they easily make the playoffs.

$25 on the hawks being 8 or worse..... $25 that frolik is under 20 goals. You are on..... And i don't want any crying that frolik got hurt or the hawks had too many injuries otherwise blah blah blah.

Andru - I'm not a fan of that 'injury' clause.... the 2011-12 Hawks either ARE a top 7 team or they ARE NOT.  

Pens had Sid and Malkin out for more than half the season and they made the playoffs.  More than half the teams in the west will make the playoffs - Thats already good odds.  Muddy seems to think the hawks are a top 3 team this season.... surely they can handle the injury bug.  In fact they were plagued by injuries last season - and they still made the playoffs right?  You think they are a better team - I do not.

Part of consistently making the playoffs is depth - something I have argued the Hawks haven't had since the 2010 firesale.  Why would I give you a cop out for the Hawks lack of depth.  Just sounds like another Hawks fan making excuses for why they will not be in the top 7 teams in the west this season ;)

Take the 'injury' clause out and we are on.  Keep it simple -    I'll put up $25 on the hawks being 8th or worse..... and $25 that frolik is under 20 goals at the seasons end.

Kane broke his wrist.  Its the start of the Hawks excuses for why they are not a playoff team next season.

It's Party in the Park on Fridays.  Those $2 beers may be a reality.
