Everyone should just send ticket requests to seble telling him to release the 09-10 players in the current engine.

Like that'll do anything...

Well, if they ever get the new players out.......if they give me a full season team, not $5 credit.......i'll probably start playing a little more. I love to draft, play, but it's just too ridiculous at this point. The whole mess. I remember when i 1st started playing, i had to walk 5 miles, up hill!!!!!!! In the snow, rain, sleet, heat of the summer...just to get online at the library to play!!!.......lol.......

A free season seems like the miminum that should be done, and it should be done now, not waiting until they have the players inputted. At this rate, we'll see the 10 - 11 players and still be waiting for the 09-10 ones!

long running progressive league (UPL - almost 20 seasons in) is in danger of collapsing.  In May, we had a full 24-owner league ready to jump on the next season.

We now have had 11 owners bail.  ELEVEN!

If that league does die, it's this release's fault (and ultimately the people who have delayed the release for so long).  I was in favor of taking time to get things right, but it's almost August, and things are getting beyond ridiculous.

If that prog league dies, I won't be replacing it with an OL.  I'll spend my $10 somewhere else.  I'm sure I'm not the only owner.  It sounds like there are 11 who have already decided that they'll be spending all of their WIS elsewhere.

I've had some ticket requests to provide an update on the release.  As of now there really isn't anything new to tell you.  I'm still waiting to hear back from our outside stats guy to see if we can come up with a workable solution for position effectiveness.  It's proven to be much more difficult than expected.  That's the hold up right now.  If anything changes on that front I promise I will post it here.  Since tinmanpb left us we no longer have a full-time stat analyst to do this type of work, so it will take longer than it used to for things like this.
So what happened to the outside stats guy?

Can we give him some advice? What is the hold up, specifically?

WIS/FOX has seriously dropped the ball.

I think its absolutely ridiculous that the 09-10 players have not been released. We have Seble telling us on April 20 that he is planning to re-release the entire player pool, blah blah blah and that we may have to wait "a few extra weeks."

It's been 14 weeks and counting since that post. Why don't you guys give us some idea WTF is going on because some of us still enjoy playing and would just like to see the 09-10 season already.

Nick,

We've had some unexpected delays, but we're still working on it. No timetable right now, but we want to get them out as much as you want to use them.

Eh.  Well, thanks for sharing the update, such as it is.

In other words:

Hey dumb@sses, haven't you figured out that you're never getting new players or an update?  We're trying to let this thing die, so we can spend all our time and resourses on other things.

I don't care how busy they are...it's releasing the newest season's worth of players and making PE adjustments to the rest of the pool, they aren't making some huge new engine release, but that's what it seems like. And the fact that there is NO TIMETABLE for the players to be updated/added is just preposterous.

Think what you will of me, but I and I'm sure many others of you guys would be willing to input stats and new PEs for them and I bet we could do it just as well, if not better than they do it. Hell I released my adjusted per 48 minute stats in May when *GASP* the NBA playoffs were still going on (remember those?), so I already have a considerable amount of data input in a database RIGHT NOW, that I could hammer out the new players for them FOR FREE, NO ERRORS, and ready to launch on Monday.

It's incredibly sad that it's gotten to this point. I don't believe for one minute that they don't have the wear-with-all/manpower to get this done.

Seemingly, we have a winner.

"We've had some unexpected delays, but we're still working on it. No timetable right now, but we want to get them out as much as you want to use them."

Could they be any more vague? Here's my take on this:

"Unexpected delays": The HD update was fcked so now they are scrambling trying to fix it
"Still working on it": They're working on HD, not the NBAsim
"No timetable now": There are too many issues and we have like 1 guy with half a brain here
"We want to get them out as much as you want to use them": Quit bugging us, roaches

I think everyone should stop buying teams

but otherwise you know, no comment
7/30/2010 11:40 PM
If they really wanted to get them out as much as we want to use them, they would have been out at least 2 months ago. When there's a will, there's a way, but a purposefully lack of effort seems to be the case here.

Yeah, it's like people who say they have no time to exercise. Make time, u lazy sob!
