Waste Management is giving about 34,000 employees a $2,000 bonus. They do not include people with sales incentives or people who already receive a bonus. The poor are screwed!

California is about to bend the Republican tax plan over and shove all five fingers in. This is what happens when you rush legislation through without any hearings or testimony from experts. We are about to learn what California tax dollars mean to the country in general.

You have to watch CNN or MSNBC to find out.

Best news regarding the tax cut that I've seen so far. Walmart raising their minimum wage to 11 dollars and giving out bonuses. These are the people that need to see wage increases and bonuses. Money in their hands gets money flowing into the economy and hopefully off of public assistance. Would like to see higher wages, but baby steps.

California is going to allow it's citizens to make a charitable contribution to the state in the amount of their entire SALT taxes(as a credit) in lieu of actually paying the tax to the California government. This charitable contribution will then be allowed to be deducted from their federal taxes in it's entirety instead of being capped at 10k. Under the new tax laws, charitable contributions are still 100 percent deductible. The average salt deduction in California in 2016 was 18,400 by people who itemized.

If the idiots in Washington hadn't of been hell bent on ramrodding this plan through so it could appear they actually accomplished something in 2017, they would have had the time to close a loop hole like this. I'm sure there will be plenty more loopholes that will be found in this hastily written piece of shoddy legislation.

walmart put in one billion dollars in (2015) to increase rate to $ 9.00 and expand other benefits......went to 10.00 in 2016.....spending more money......now they raise to 11 while 37 states have already authorized such increase.......all while trying to compete with target.....see bloomberg article.

I'll check that out...thanks Dino. That is one thing that I've noticed...some of these companies announcing minimum wage increases, don't mention that the state/county minimum wage is already scheduled to go up.

Cali is the contrarian state. Hence it cannot balance its budget.

IF anyone would know how to cheat on their taxes, it would be the Dems.

You'd see robot clerks and automated inventory before you'll see much higher wages.

Agreed. Automation is moving at lightening speed

I don't disagree.
