Him and his dad was on my father/son team at the FS Baseball World Series in Phoenix Az 13 years ago So I'm going to pick switch pitcher Pat Venditte for my A's team
I didn't know Pat Venditte's story of his dad training him as an ambidextrous pitcher / athlete. And now there is a Pat Venditte rule about it in m.l.b. - fascinating.
shh0825 a follow up
Yes Pat Sr was my catcher when I pitched in our Omaha Mens Sr baseball league and in between innings Pat Sr would take Pat Jr behind the dugout and have him throw 20 pitches each hand every game we played while we were batting, from I want to think age 8 or 9 or 10. Then when Pat was 16 he went down to Phoenix with my over 30 team mates and our sons to compete in the father Son Baseball World Series. I was a pitcher and my son was my catcher and vice versa with the Venditte's. He was so smooth by this time players were shocked when he switched hands and reversed his special 6 fingered glove that he had made from a company in Japan. Both Vendittes are really nice down to earth. Hope he makes it back into the majors again. He is still with the Giants AAA farm club after a couple of stints with A's Dodger Giants after starting in the yankee organization. Jeter, Girardi and a bunch more Yankees took to him when he was in the minors wanted to see him pitch. Good guy. Anyway that swhy I am taking him with pick with the A's It's his only yr he pitched more that 25 innings to make a SIM season. If you check his minor league stats they were very good. Was a ALL American at Creighton Univ in Omaha. I was a switch hitter and we had a scrimmage before we went to Phoenix and we had fun switching back and forth switch pitching and me switch hitting. SO we kind of needed that ruling Ha Ha
