Pasta water......like the water pasta boils in? Can't he be gumbo? He is from Louisiana.
Pasta water is a great thickening agent but honestly, I always keep way too much on hand.
You can never have enough Mail, man!
Between how many times I have had Karl Malone on my teams and how many leagues I am in with you, it seemed apt.

Fair enough.

I have no idea what any of those mean in regards to the players drafted, but they do have entertaining names!
Like Klay, wild game stock is not a dish unto itself, but it makes everything you add it to significantly tastier.

15. robusk - Artis Gilmore, Kawhi Leonard - I almost took Kawhi instead of Klay. In the end, I wanted the consistency/predictability of Klay ... and the threes. I felt he was unique. Kawhi is a hoss, though! Nice usg+efg+def option, good boards/turnovers in that battle. A little low on ast% and minutes, not to mention that you've only got 4 tier 3 or higher usage seasons... but fortunately, you already drafted a heavy minutes, consistent guy in Artis, so you can flex that quite well. Also not like there's not many SGs out there that you can pick up one season of higher usage if you end up needing it at that spot. I had Kawhi as a late 1st-early 2nd grade.

16. amerk1180 - Tim Duncan, Dikembe Mutombo - Some of the top owners have picked up paint monsters, and paint monsters are so good in the sim... so getting top defensive dudes at the 4 & 5 is quite smart. Mutombo gives you solid rebounding no matter what season you choose (and elite boards a couple of them). He also gives you pretty solid efg% even if his usage is lower. I had Mutombo at an early-mid 2nd grade.

17. mptrey - Magic Johnson, Kevin McHale - There's few guys out there that give you the consistent win of usg+efg+def that McHale gives you; he also is a clean tov% guy with decent boards depending on where you play him. Oh, look, you have Magic who gives you a strength on the boards in the back court. I really like this pairing. I had McHale as an early-mid 2nd grade.

18. 20ks - Kevin Garnett, Karl Anthony Towns - KAT gives you boards, threes, high usage at a good efg%... with not good defense... and only 4 seasons. Is this too high for him? I don't think so. I had him as a late 2nd-early 3rd grade, but it was based purely on the only 4 seasons thing. He really covers some of KG's weaknesses, who in turn covers some of his. Nice pairing.

19. jcred5 - Giannis Antetokounmpo, Gary Payton - The Glove is the best defensive point guard in NBA history, and he's pretty well represented in the sim. He's the kind of PG that I'd be worried restricted my future picks with several low-to-mid 20% ast%, but when you've already got Antetokounmpo on the squad, that immediately nullifies any of that. You've got usage, threes, solid efg%, solid ast%, and elite D coming from the Glove along with decent tov% and strong drb% some seasons - and plenty of good seasons to choose from. Lot of minutes, too! I thought Glove might slip to the end of round 2 or even early round 3 when this thing started, but by the end of round 1, I knew that was a pipe dream. I have Glove as a solid mid-2nd grade. This is a great pairing.

McHale is a minny legend tho
Absolutely! More my Dad’s guy then mine though. Born in 1990. Bobby Jackson is my Gopher!
champagnenuts and him was a pretty damn good college front line and no one is going to draft CN anyway (because he has only not obscenely bad draftable season ROY!) so I can mention him sort of obliquely (and anyway ash already drafted his son)

congrats to Robusk on his recent ODL championship!

There's too many winners in here. i don't think I've ever been in a league with more combined championship titles, several hundred at least... especially if you include ships from prior nics

I came close to taking Drummond with my second selection, just to have boards securely covered, but in the end I couldn't let Wade slip past me.

Ugh. Gobert was the other guy it pained me to pass over, but I had to follow Rodman with an infusion of usage.

Wow. I didn’t have PG as a 2nd rounder in this format. Not saying it’s a bad pick, just surprised. He does have a couple of really good years though.

i have a group of guys still available that i like but they will all probably go in these next few picks...paul george was my last resort guy i thought i would be happily settling for...hes got 5 solid seasons that give you a little of everything...elite dreb% for a sg....damn, nothing is getting past this group of savages...im getting nervous i wont get any of of my round 2 targets
5/24/2020 12:35 PM
kemp was the only player picked so far that i didnt have on my list of round 2 targets...hes probably the biggest surprise for me...thought he would go in the 3rd

Meh efficiency and his fifth best season doesn't hold a candle to his 18-19 season, but I think he's a nice complement to Moses since rains down 3s. Strong D, can play the 2 or 3, helps on the boards and with assists.
5/24/2020 12:44 PM
I thought PG was a great pick. Super rare to get the amount of efficiency, threes and defense his most recent seasons give you, and even his seasons with lower usage and/or eFG% have a lot to like from a 2 guard.
5/24/2020 12:50 PM
I completely get all of that, and I agree that the fit is good with Moses. It’s just that his 18-19 is roughly worth a 3rd in a normal draft league and now adding 4 worse seasons than that and bumping his value? Just my perspective. That’s the cool thing about this, I could be looking at it wrong and other people could be looking at it right. We’ll find out on the court.
5/24/2020 12:52 PM
That's a fair way to look at it. I suppose I'm just placing a higher premium on usage, since a lot of players fluctuate from season to season and I have no idea who will and won't be available in the later rounds.
