Saying "three suicides out of thousands of protesters" is a bit disingenuous, no? Everyone who died was a fairly prominent member or organizer of the protests. They weren't random people. All I'm saying is that it's not out of the question, especially with what the DHS is doing in Portland. I'm going to watch what happens to organizers after these protests. If more of them mysteriously start getting killed, we should know that something is up.
Maybe you know more than I do. All I know is what the article you posted said. And the descriptions of the persons who have died do not suggest that they were prominent leaders in the protests; they sounds much closer to a random group of participants. I'm pretty sure for a few of them it just said they were "active in" protests.
That said, if what you claim here is correct then I will concede that it smells a lot fishier. Basically, the relevant question is how many people were involved in Ferguson protests at a similar level as the people committing suicide. Without other information, it still sounds to me from the Chicago Tribune article that the answer is at least a 4-figure number, probably a 5-figure number.
In which case, 3 suicides is still not a statistical outlier.
