This league and this draft is so civil and "professional" that it is a pleasure to play. The league itself itself is fascinating. Using all of the players in the history of baseball, drafting a roster and picking a park is endlessly challenging for everyone (except for Kelly). But that's only part of it. Craig and Kelly make it a pleasure to participate and I've been in other drafts that are singularly, not a pleasure. I'm sure I'll never win it, but I'm just as sure that I'll never stop trying. Good on you guys and thanks for putting it together.

Couldn’t agree more. Except hopefully for that winning part.

Thanks for the kind words cholatse! I can't speak for kelly, but for me, it has become a "labour of love" to do this league. Partly because for the most part, everyone is just a cool guy, and there are few if any grumblings or controversies. OK, MOSTLY that's why. But it IS also a real challenge and a **** ton of fun! I have usually NEVER had good teams when I go "offensive heavy" but I see ledfoot and a couple others do it with pitchers around a 1.00 WHIP. I'm gonna give it a shot and see what happens this time...

Thanks cholatse. I am happy that you enjoy DEAL Everybody has different stresses in their lives so any group of 24 people is bound to have some level of conflict. But if we accept that and treat everyone fairly and with respect, we can still have fun. I am grateful to be able to help keep this running. I grew up with this format. When my brothers & friends and I played tabletop leagues (mostly SI All-Stars from 1970 and Ballpark) it was all about the draft. We'd do a draft, play a 24 game schedule for a few days and then do another draft. So when amerk started DEAL, I knew I had found a virtual home. As the seasons have piled up, drafting a team continues to become more challenging as actual player results become a bigger part of the process. That's one reason I think it's great that amerk goes out of his way to allow new owners each season. Typically, TulsaG would not have been added to a league because there were three owners from the season just completed also on the wait list. But instead he was allowed in and he gave me a new way to look at drafting. We'll see if I learned anything. Thanks again, and happy drafting.
