Nah man. Season is still early. Couple lucky breaks but nothing more than a good start. The losses will start piling in soon enough.

Plus I probably don't have one title favorite in the bunch. People like ben and dh are way more well positioned for the playoffs then I am. Hoping for a spot on the podium though.

Doc is a problem.

i especially liked his "lets inbound it to embiid in the corner with maxey 30 feet from the hoop as his only outlet when the obvious double comes" play he ran with 8 secs on the shot clock and the game on the line

i wish morey had the balls to change coaches in the offseason but i know its not gonna happen

Without oversharing, I think there are some community wide misconceptions around positional tiering and strengths, along with usage distribution. I guess that is intentionally vague but it boils down to some things I feel like I see:
- Owners are either too set in one way of team building or way too far out on a ayahuasca journey about these theoretical concepts that aren't plausible. There is a lot to eat in between there.
- There are some tropes about what positions are shallow and which are deep that lead to drafting patterns which I think are counter to the reality of how talent is distributed across positions
- I think there are lots of creative ways to distribute shots to generate difficult gameplanning decisions for opponents and most of the community is too vanilla in this regard

But also, I have had a couple bad Savage seasons too. So wtf do I know. This league is really hard. So is the ODL. Given that is all I play now, I feel like I am learning every day here.

To be clear: I am just as guilty as anyone of "this guy won recently so he must know stuff" but I am just as clueless as most people.

Also, next happy hour will probably not be this weekend but the next one when we are around the halfway mark.

I am the rare Double Helix Hybrid Drafter ( DHHD Syndrome ). My ayahuasca journey involves me stubbornly adhering to one way of team building ( plus I snack too much late at night )...

A 5-0 followed by an 0-5. This game is being careless with my emotions.

I think the plan is to do a midseason review happy hour this Sunday at 8 PM ET. Hopefully we can get the founder on to discuss the Savage origins and we can talk about how everyone is feeling about their teams so far, what went right, what went wrong. I will post the Zoom info later.

IRL teams this year average about 20 fouls per game. That's down from ~ 22 fpg in the mid 90's. Teams in this league are averaging 18.75 fpg. It's not uncommon for a player to match his IRL ppg while FT's are so much lower. One example that my experience tells me is typical without fact checking is Karl Malone. Averaging 27.4 ppg compared with 27 ppg IRL in one league. Yet IRL he attempted 836 FT and is on pace to attempt 575 FT. So how do players maintain their scoring with 68% of the FTA? The answer is more made field goals. But the real question is why does the sim maintain a pretty similar foul rate with a significantly lower FT rate due to non shooting fouls. But I wonder if it's deeper than that. Again the smallest of sample sizes. But same team Faried IRL was 288 FTA and is on pace for 280. And my instincts without fact checking history tell me the lower usage/lower IRL FTA guys tend to come much closer. So then is it guys with higher FTA IRL are adjusted to make FG rather than get to the line?

Random thoughts - curious if anyone has covered this.
