Capital Athletic Conference: Year 12-pres Topic

Coach of the Year: This is Otis_Thorpe's to lose.
POY: This is between Ridinger (SMM), Williams (CUA), and Winnett (Salisbury). I'll take Salisbury since they need him more than SMM needs Ridinger.
ROY: How about Varela from CUA? He'll get minutes, points and rebounds.
All conference:
PG: Richard (Marymount). A lot of inside power players give him space and assists.
SG: This should be McCann or Williams, but they are officially a PG and a SF. Staats for VJ might be the best of the rest.
SF: This is a one-horse race. Ledoux from Hood will lap the field.
PF: Rohe from Marymount. He's solid, but the LP strength in the CAC is at the C position.
C: Winnett, but it will be close.

Andrew, great work as always. York excepted, it looks like a strong year for the CAC.

Thanks for the preview andrew. I am also worried about my Rebs

I think yoyure faily accurate andrew ... tho if coach can stay outta way at Marymount, it could be a banner season with a couple breaks ... and boy howdy it better be because unless some frontcourt players drop out of sky next recruiting season, it could a couple more seasons till we're heard from nationally again.
I think we'll start using stick-em to reduce the TOs ... cant continue to be so bad with the ball once we play decent teams, the rebounding only goes so far - LOL
We're just hoping that some of our opponents can get on a roll to help SOS, it WILL be a major issue when it comes bubble time.

At one point this was my Plan B options at SF for this year. His WE is low, but not so low that he can’t raise to decent with PT.I like his profile more than most would; he can help you win at SF.
Here's my original commentary on Ledoux. I bypassed him for Drum. For a team needing rebounding, Ledoux is now the better one.

great job, andrew...both in the forum and with Catholic. But, you gotta stop being so high on Ridinger. He'll never get enough mins to put up POY stats.

thanks for the preview, andrew.

Season 17 Preview.
The North: CUA, Goucher, Marymount, and Salisbury all can aspire for postseason berths. CUA's early top 25 victories should make an NT visit likely. We'll guess a 9 seed. Looks like I might get a 5/6... we'll see Goucher has one of the best backcourts in D3, but lacks rebounding to take down the better teams. I'm guessing PIT for them. Way off here. They rebounded worse than I did from my first crush. Marymount's SOS worries me, but they could still sneak in with a 15 to the NT. Marymount underperformed due to some tough losses. Salisbury is also destined for the PIT in my book, though the could slide up. Atleast this one was dead on. They are on the bubble. They've got some great DEF aces.
The South: SMM is the only real contender here. I think Hood's rebounding issues will temper any early season success. I'm putting SMM in as a 12. Pretty dead on here. I think they make it, possibly as high as 12. Their SOS will not help their RPI. Hopefully they scheduled harder for next year.
I'm guessing our conference RPI will place us #4. Go CAC!
I notably sold out York. I thought this was a rebuild year, but they are on the bubble. We are 10 in RPI and probably lack the dominant team to make a NT run to move us up. Definitely a down year, but still in the top third of all conferences. Go CAC!

I'm hoping this WAS a rebuilding year at York (only one senior - though he will be sorely missed). Thanks again for the great media coverage of the CAC. I still think Catholic may have an NT run in them this year.

smcm is set for a huge run next year.

All conference:
PG: Richard (Marymount). A lot of inside power players give him space and assists. 2nd team
SG: This should be McCann or Williams, but they are officially a PG and a SF. Staats for VJ might be the best of the rest. Just honorable mention. McCann was 1st team at PG.
SF: This is a one-horse race. Ledoux from Hood will lap the field. Yes sir, he did.
PF: Rohe from Marymount. He's solid, but the LP strength in the CAC is at the C position. 3rd team, but looking at the stats, I'm not sure how Chunn was 1st
C: Winnett, but it will be close. Reasonably close, but nailed this one.
Coach of the Year: This is Otis_Thorpe's to lose. which his SOS essentially did. Congrats to Jfri who won the honor for the 1st time.
POY: This is between Ridinger (SMM), Williams (CUA), and Winnett (Salisbury). I'll take Salisbury since they need him more than SMM needs Ridinger. Correct. Ridinger was solid; Williams a cipher.
ROY: How about Varela from CUA? He'll get minutes, points and rebounds.
He would have been a decent pick, but Starks was solid.
