alright, any tips on the training aspect of things?  When and when not to train the hardest? that type of thing...

you should be training on hard every day

I'd be going medium every day during the offseason. Your health will stay at 100%, but you'll have some grumpy SOBs morale-wise. They'll get over it when the games start back up and they start getting ice time again. Ice time and days off make them happy.

during the season, I pretty much train short every day, except on the 2ND day of back-to-back gamedays, then I give the boys a day off from the morning skate.

One the 1ST day of back-to-back days off, I train medium.

Methinks Rustybladez is in for a rough ride tonight. He beat me on the last day of the regular season last year.

which gives me an idea for the superleague.  what if the ten of us in the league started a second team there.  this would give us a full league.  rules could be set about tanking and trading with your second team.  although this might get a little shady

I had a similar thought, and if Mike Welch, the WIS SIM Hockey guy were running GHL, he'd make it happen (he used to be great about tweaking things for specific weird theme leagues). 

Set it up so we could trade between the Superleague and the Deuce. Essentially make the Deuce our AHL. Probably wouldn't be that hard to do if BCartfall were actually working on it. We did it on WIS awhile ago... we had a twin, linked dynasty hockey league - six seasons, two leagues, one NHL and one AHL, both with prospect drafts every year. Welch made a way for us to transfer players back and forth between the two leagues.

We could trade for each other's prospects, or REALLY load the Superleague with the best of both leagues (Caines and Kirbo would be awesome on NHN)...
