My kids have all been vaccinated. However, it should be my choice, not the government's.

Yep. Many people rely on you vaccinating your kids. It's not a choice solely for your kids.

to call this a debate is like debating a strict jehova's witneess.....courts and agencies... just take over in dire situations after govt intervention......there are always laws to protect minors be it drinking..driving....curfiew...no matter what parents think....we are lucky to have health and welfare.
i say enough philosophical stuff about the individual getting stomped on by the evil american govt..
we have a good system of govt with some bad leaders......who we hope will be put out before they do more harm to the institutions.

Okay, sorry. Busy work day. Here is my take on the topic for today. I believe it should be mandatory. While it may seem contradictory, it is consistent with the rest of my beliefs. I believe you should be allowed to do what you want without the government telling you how to live your life, as long as you aren't directly harming someone else. As others have mentioned, when you do not have your children vaccinated you are directly putting other people at risk.

My only concern with vaccinations are the number of vaccinations that they give children in such a short amount of time. While we do have data that confirms that vaccinations are not harmful, we do not have longitudinal data that receiving numerous vaccinations in a short period of time at a young age is not harmful. I would like to see the vaccinations spread out more throughout childhood, administering the vaccinations for diseases that adults are more susceptible to later in the process.

how do you know there are not studies on all of the vaccines and the timing and the necessary timelines.
also it is not just about other people.....the children are just as innocent as a viable fetus and must be protected from idiot parents who would harm the children without laws in place.

A few of the vaccines are too new to much longitudinal data. Both of my children received all of their vaccinations, so obviously it doesn't freak me out that much but it does make me slightly apprehensive.
