I promise you we all care. I've personally been working on this site since the beginning and the NBA was my baby for a long time. Our hands are tied in some ways.

It's not ridiculous. You haven't shown you do. You still haven't shown it. You say your hands are tied. You say you took over a new project and it split your time. It appears as though it hasn't split your time at all. It appears it took all of your time. You say some changes might be coming at some point, but that ain't good enough anymore. I can't speak for any other owners, but it's too late with me. I'm using my remaining credits on the progressive league I'm in and then I'm done. That doesn't mean I won't use my right to continually fight for a change to the game I once really liked while I'm here.

Be patient but keep playing right? The game is on its deathbed, and you/WIS don't care because if you/they did, you/they would be trying to save the game....actions speak louder than words. WIS spends way too much time fixing things that aren't broken, thus little add ins and fix ins to HD don't only not MATTER to the NBA simmers, it does nothing to help their cause either.

I had said for years...WIS is biting off more than it can chew...you all scoffed and laughed and made excuses...well look where you are now...hope you're enjoying your bed of nails. WIS wants to run all these games but doesn't want enough guys to run them...sound logic no doubt. You guys should sell out to a larger company so you can expand and prof......oh wait.........screwed that up too.

Taps is playing in the background seble and you're still backpedaling and making excuses...actions speak louder than words.

been here awhile, started out in baseball (got lucky once), always read the forums. starting to think this sim is big corp since fox bought this site. $$$ in all fairness seble may have his hands tied. may be multi-tasking.

so what? it's his job!!!

i have asked personal questions and received responses. maybe if the basketball sim generated more $$$ they would treat us equeally?

ok, so it's ok to outright lie to us because we're not filling their bankroll as much as baseball?

isnt it reasonable to think that you could post a few encouraging words more than every 6 or 8 weeks though? it seems like people are making an effort and responding to you when you do post

(also you might consider banning posters who dont buy teams from participating in certain conversations - like those pertaining to the quality of a sim which they arent playing)

Don't look now, but that list is about to grow quite a bit according to this and other threads. Also, if the QUALITY OF THE SIM caused me to STOP PLAYING 2-3 months ago, then aren't my gripes still legitimate? My gripes don't matter because I'm smart enough not to pour any more money into a subpar, excessively random game?

Take the blinders off man...the people that aren't playing this game anymore aren't playing for a reason...not "just because".

I've explained the situation as honestly as I can, so everyone can decide how they want to proceed. I hope people will take a step back and look at the game and decide if it's fun enough to play. Ultimately it's your decision because you speak with your money. If you enjoy the game then by all means keep playing. If not, then try something else.

All I can say is that I would love to put in most or all of your suggestions today, but it unfortunately doesn't work like that. We've lost a few people here and had additional work given to us, so we have to make hard choices about how we spend our time. We'd love to hire 20 more people and have multiple people working on each game at all times, but that's not going to happen anytime soon. So please try to enjoy the game for what it is and continue to post your ideas here for when we're able to work on them.

Baseball issue with a release corrected in 10 minutes. I'll acquire 27 new wrinkles on my forehead waiting for one to be addressed here.

Clearly we have to prioritize things given the situation. SimLeague Baseball and the dynasty games are the heavy hitters on the site, so of course those will get more attention. That's just common sense. We'd be stupid not to do that. So comparing NBA to baseball is apples to oranges. That doesn't mean we're going to ignore NBA, just that we have to maintain the user bases that keep the site alive.

Is it ideal that we have to operate that way? Of course not. As I said before I'd love to have a group of developers working on NBA full-time.

(1) There are aspects of the game that you consider to be minor issues that we consider to be major issues.

(2) Should we make a list of what we do and don't like about the sim?

I'm curious to know if:

In the amount of time it's taken you to read these posts, compose a thought and type a response, could you have begun implementation of any of the requested changes we've been looking for?
8/28/2009 7:06 PM
how about this:

seble you give us a time table

we'll consolidate our thoughts into a pinned thread (start over this one makes you look pretty bad)

and you make a promise to review and recap what you expect might be in an update and when it might happen

you can surface at a designated time (call it every third friday or once a month to give us an update and tell what you are seeing from our feedback that you can use) and then you can go back into your little HD cave and do what you need to do there

the real issue is that you do not allow for interaction - the healthiest these forums have been in a long time was after the last release in May 08 when you set us the task and priviledge to discuss one time player position edits we wanted - there was lots of discussion and debate and interest - you should definitely revive that

in any event you've got to be more structured and concrete - it's too late with me but you do realize that this thread itself converted several guys to the dark side just because of your absence and percieved attitude - I hardly had to do anything besides point out the obvious
8/28/2009 8:35 PM
seble

yes I agree w/ monkee. a timetable would be nice..

because there is absolutely no point in this thread or any other if nothing is going to be done or even get scheduled

of course wis is busy, understaffed, need to give HD and MLB more time, yadda yadda yadda. we've heard it all before, and FYI customers don't like listening to excuses on why the service is bad..

I'm trying to be reasonable here but my god, why did you start this thread if nothing was going to get done? to say we feel ignored is a gross understatement. we would like some news - no news is bad news around here nowadays.
8/28/2009 9:11 PM
That's part of the problem. Timetables are tricky right now. We're having stuff added to our plate at times that we can't plan for. The other problem in the case of NBA is transitioning to another developer is difficult because I know most of the code inside and out, but the new guy would not. It's what I've been going through with HD and it's a significant hurdle. We're close to a point where we'll be regrouping and coming up with a plan for all the games, so that would be a better time to relay any schedules to you guys.

The point of this thread was to gather feedback on what people want us to focus on when time is available. For the most part that was achieved. We can sort through everything and come up with a list. I don't think there's a need for a new thread.
8/28/2009 9:40 PM
for now then, how about just some simple changes until more time is available for the other things?

the name changes / spellings would be a good place to start

then work your way from there to salaries maybe

and so on, depending on your available time.
