Exactly my point, this is all just random crap that people want in the name of realisum...

Maybe there should be a one day period where we hire grounds keepers.

<<<Besides, HFA is already there with the ability to build your team around your ballpark.>>>

This is probably the worst argument so I can address it first. Many of the stadiums are almost the same. Unless you have a Coors or that SD park type stadium you can not make a real impact.

And if you have a similar park, when they play you neither one has a HFA.

Really? Have you ever looked at park effects for the current ballparks in your world?

That's how it is in real life. And, playing in a simialr park should not generate a HFA advantage of significance. That is a good thing. A bad thing would to give the home team an unwarrranted, unnecessary, advantage that could very well be significantly out of hand

Oh, boy. As soon as swamphawk22 sees your post he'll be off on his next whacked out campaign. At least in a thread arguing for groundskeepers hilarity should ensue.

But the fact is that no matter what stadium a team has, there is a real life HFA.

This cannot be based on building a team for their park, or on last bats.

Their is HFA in all sports. WIS recognizes this in every dynasty game except HBD.

WifS just sent me an email. They say they have built in a 2.37% HFA into HBD.

I guess that's the end of that.

7/28/2009 12:14 PM
Yeah, I got that same email. If there are strange results over the next few days, blame swamp.

Uhhhh....this isn't true, is it? I know I'm gullible and all but I'm sleep deprived too, so I can't read the sarcasm...

From today's Dev Chat:

Can you explain why there is no inherent home field advantage in HBD. Since every sport has a home field advantage, why should MLB be different?? (swamphawk22 - Hall of Famer - 2:53 PM)

The advantage is that you build your franchise to play in your park.
11/9/2009 8:18 PM
And that you get to bat last.
11/10/2009 1:35 PM
Yeah, that's a HUGE advantage.

I just don't know how.
11/10/2009 1:39 PM
Because you know how many you have to score in order to tie or win...which doesn't seem like much of an advantage since you should be trying to win either way. I guess a manager would manage differently knowing whether he has to manage a 1-run game or 3-run

The simple explaination is it is a flaw but WIS refuses to admit it and it would be too hard to fix it.

Give me the Strength to change the things I can, The wisdom to accept the things I cannot and the intelligence to know the difference!

Grant me the serenity to accept those who wildly misquote things on the internet.....
