Which rogue commissioners have been booting people on a whim?

Why have I only heard of two examples, domi and harthj, since the inception of HBD?

The issue is that someday there may be a stampeding herd of elephants going down main street Clifton Springs NY if I don't keep setting off those firecrackers.

I am sounding like a broken record: Because not everyone uses the forums religiously.

What is the problem with setting rules and only being able to boot people who violate those rules?

Our thoughts:

Keep expanded Fair Play Guidelines (what determines a "tanking team").

Remove notice regarding private worlds.

Allow private world commissioners to restrict access between seasons. Rationale for removal must occur prior to the end of the season (heads up to us) and again when the season rolls.

We will continue to review some of these instances subjectively, but this maintains the majority of the power in the commish hands.

For a commish to be removed from commish duty, we will need 10 other owners in the world to state they agree in the world chat during the season.

Thoughts?

randallball,

Private worlds are the game's bread and butter. The commishes of those worlds are incredibly important to the success of the game. We obviously care a tremendous amount about private worlds and its users.

But we also have to care about the individual owners. When one invests time and money for 3 seasons and then has his team stripped, we want to be sure we are totally fair in assessing the situation. Imagine yourself in that owner's shoes. Wouldn't you be thoroughly upset if you honestly felt you did nothing wrong and didn't break any stated rules?

TZ you are making this harder for WIS than it needs to be. WIS should make it known they will exercise one of 2 options (both precovered by disclaimers), and only those 2 options will be considered (1) 98% of the time they should support the commish and remove the owner in question and (2) 2% after special investigation they will remove the commish. Knowledge that these are the only 2 options WIS will entertain will stop most of the issues. (WIS should NEVER do what was done in Cooperstown - keep the owner in the league and keep the commish -- needs to be one or the other. It should rarely, and only with compelling evidence, that it be the Commish that is removed)

I felt that way in Cooperstown this past season. I feel that way now. But I also believe that MikeT23 is fully within his rights to kick me out if he feels like I am not living up to the standards he creates for the world. And that's what happened.

I am upset about losing a team that I built not for three seasons, but for THIRTEEN! But you know what? I wasn't cutting it. I wasn't putting in the effort that Mike wanted to see. So I'm gone.

That is, and should be, his prerogative as the commissioner. If you want people to continue to be commissioners in these private worlds you have to give them this amount of trust. You absolutely have to. If not, you will have destroyed the game as we know it.

Tzent, you guys have, for better or worse, done a fairly decent job of administering this game. If you really do want the game to continue, you've got to give the commissioners this power, or face that there just won't be any private worlds.
