Agreed...you're almost guaranteed to have to sign a high priced scrub which leads to a) do you start him or waste money on your bench, and b) when should you jump to get a player's low season vs. sucking it up and taking a higher one

The cap has added another element to what was already a diabolical drafting process.

That said, the previous 16 x 16 drafts were still agonizing even without the cap.

I'm wondering how the 12 x 12 drafts will play out. Right now, as I pull my hair out on this one, they seem like they'll go much easier, but we'll see.

One question I have, though, is why No clones for all these. Personally, I don't know see why you can't field two Ruths, etc. if you draft for it. I think it might add something

I can see an argument for clones if you have a hitter and a pitcher (ie: Caruthers, Ruth), but in season two we had a couple Yankees from the Ruth/Gehrig era...so what if someone takes a cheap Ruth teammate, gets first pick in the draft, and gets a 1923 Yankee with his first pick?

That's two high-priced Ruths in one lineup, right off the bat. The only way I can see clones being a good idea is if we keep the cap, otherwise all hell could break loose.

We'll eat up $4.3 mil of our payroll (thanks ron) with '28 Whitehill.

My biggest problem is going to be only having 13 pitching slots, with the 4 scrubs I drafted in relief.

Let me know if v.5 will use the salary cap so that I may start researching my Whitehill type selection now.

My biggest problem will be telling '91 Clemens, '28 Goslin and '61 Mathews that they didn't make the team because I can't afford them.

I've always filled every pitchers slot in the past drafts.

A possible suggestion for the next 16x16..

I'd like to see a rule that allowed only 2 selected players per decade. This will cut out some of the similar extras taken.

I have the same issue with Garland Braxton. He's my fourth best SP (behind Joss, W.Johnson and D.Leonard) and he's not going to make the team.

I can't wait any longer - 1979 Lamp $3.9M.

Besides Oli, Schwarze and Shyster have theirs already.
