Yeah, I'm not so amped on that idea. There are legit situations (like the one Z just showed w. Illinois) where the kid is good but has better players ahead of him. And as long as those players are leaving, he'll see serious PT the following season. Or I've seen talented freshman at places like UNC, etc. that just couldn't crack a veteran lineup leave after contributing nothing. Remember, freshmen just can't make the same impact in HD as they do in real life.
Granted, I don't think they are every day occurrences, but they definitely happen. I'm with billyg: Give the kid at least one season of being a serious contributer before he gets ripped away early.
