Make it both so the tactic is less necessary and so that it is less effective.

Admittedly, I haven't had to deal with Early entries yet, so someone might give reasons that reasoning wouldn't work.

Yeah, I'm not so amped on that idea. There are legit situations (like the one Z just showed w. Illinois) where the kid is good but has better players ahead of him. And as long as those players are leaving, he'll see serious PT the following season. Or I've seen talented freshman at places like UNC, etc. that just couldn't crack a veteran lineup leave after contributing nothing. Remember, freshmen just can't make the same impact in HD as they do in real life.

Granted, I don't think they are every day occurrences, but they definitely happen. I'm with billyg: Give the kid at least one season of being a serious contributer before he gets ripped away early.

Yeah exactly dalt, i don't think that ee's are going away and i agree with you that eliminating them would likely be the best 'fix' but I am alright with them, as long as they work.

I'd be up for looking into maybe jacking up transfers a bit, not too much but enough where a top 10 player that is burried for 2 years decides to transfer more often then they do now. sure that is ok with me, but it would have to work right.

I think that you and i are basically on the same page regarding EE's dalt and I know that there is a way that they can be fixed but it makes very little sense for some of the players that go early to go early.

Also in the past I have noticed that the more seniors you have you usually lose less underclassmen?

I only ask because I lost 3 EE's along with 4 Srs. I was expecting 1, maybe 2 guys to leave but not 3.

Also I have no idea why School Prestige is such a key factor in terms of if a player leaves early or not, that in and of itself shows that EE's are more of a tool to even the playing field, regardless of what you say seble.

AiB I understand what you are saying, and I am confident that dalt does as well. The last thing we want to do is turn the EE problem into a Transfer problem.

Ok. Just wanted to be sure. As I said, I don't have personal experience with EE yet (I hope at some point I get good enough players that I do), but as things stand, transfers are extremely rare even when you WANT them it seems. Or at least in my personal experience.

And when you don't want them to leave... They do - See Wheeler from my Illini team.

Where did he go?

Pro.

Ah, sorry. I had been talking about transfers as well, so I wasn't entirely sure if he was referring to a transfer or EE.

I just had a PF with a REB of 72 leave after his junior year. 72. Now, he was strong in other categories, but this is a kid who has a major weakness leaving early. How can this make sense? How can this be consistent with what has been said?

There are a lot of people who would love to see early entries go the way of the dinosaur, myself included.
Amen to that.

Basically - It doesn't.

Did you check out the player from page 1? The post player that started this debate? 70 Rebound. How does he compare to the player you lost?
