Had no chance from jump street and that is ok. I didn't expect much being that I am a lifetime .500 WIS guy. I did have fun building the teams and following all 6 teams throughout the season. Thanks Mike for running a fantastic tournament! Good luck to those close to making it to round 2
Don't give up hope for the future. I'm typically a .500 guy and stumbled into the Top 24 a few years ago (needed a Game 7 WS win with my final team to get in). Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

Yeah I'm free, free fallin...

I had some pretty decent luck my last two tourneys-I believe I once had all six teams make the 1st round playoffs. This past week or so is my payback

I was as high as 19 not so long ago-T40 now

We interrupt this sound off to bring a breaking news bulletin...the 2019 players have arrived.

Kudos to WIS for getting them out so quickly this year.

So, here I am...in a 3 way tie for 19th...and four of my teams are within one game of making/missing playoffs. This won't be a nerve wracking final 11 games or anything.

So I wake up this morning, and the wife starts nagging me about taking out the trash and cleaning out the gutters. I tried to wake up my teenage son and he says he stayed up until 1:00 playing video games and doesn’t want to go to school. I go to the kitchen and step in my dog’s “accident” because somebody forgot to leave the doggy door opened and then I walk out to my car and there is a flat tire I have to change in 90 degree heat in October. I finally get to work, and the boss man says we have a cash flow problem and there may be layoffs.

But all is good in this world, you know why? I went 5-1 in the AM cycle in the WIS Championship and there is still a glimmer of HOPE. At least for the next 3 hours. : )

My priorities may be a little off or I have a sickness.

The 5-1 cycle is all that matters. All of that other stuff is just noise...Hakuna Matata

3 more days...9 more games looks like a tough task (fatigue) for at least 1 (maybe 2) of my playoff hopeful pitching staffs... No comfort here

I've never been in position here before to think ahead about playoffs, but 3 of my teams are actually in comfortably (we won't discuss the laggard other 3). Since every win still matters now, I wonder how much people try to rest players once they've clinched vs. trying to rack up as many wins as possible. I suspect if I get to the final 6-7 games where I know I'm advancing, I might rest a few key guys more than I would have otherwise. Interesting balance though.

This is a tough one for me right now. My $70M team just clinched, with a lot of players in the mid-to-low 90s healthwise, but I don't want to throw away what could be valuable wins. It's a balancing act.

I'm not really "resting" any hitters but I am moving some guys way down in the order to try and regain a little strength for the playoffs.

My $90M pitching staff is absolutely gassed and of course that's the team still in this ridiculous dogfight:
Honus and Claude 96-55 0.636 - 11 6-4 W1 52-25 44-30 0-0 jfranco77
$090M - Ed Walsh & Cy Seymour 95-56 0.629 1 - 6-4 L1 49-28 46-28 0-0 NebHusker
b) Collins-White Syndrome 93-58 0.616 3 - 6-4 L1 48-26 45-32 0-0 BigScungil

No real fatigue alarms going off here. I underused a few relievers, so they are eating innings here and there. A couple of my teams can't afford to let up. Some of these final h2h matchups are important. ..

Two teams in playoffs for sure, one all but certain two be. I have two teams 4 out of playoff spot with 7 to play (oh-oh), and one eliminated from playoff consideration despite having more wins than the two teams that, technically, still have life. Looks like I'm only going to have 3 teams help me with bonus points. Since this is only the second time I've played in the WIS, I don't have a feel what the playoffs do to help/harm a team that's in the cage. Hope to make round two.

If you're right on the edge, you'll really need to hope at least one team gets a good playoff run in.
10/4/2019 2:37 PM
I currently have the 9th best 130 mil team in all of WISC and it is two games out of a playoff slot.
