First goal on Emery was a tip-in by Slater. No chance.
Second one he could have had.
There are things to like and dislike about the Hawks game tonight, but one thing I like is how the lines are working. On nights when Toews, Sharp and Brunette are the worst line on the ice for the Hawks (for the right reasons), that can never be a bad thing.
Kaner's line looks like it has a good mix of skill, playmaking and physicality. If Carbomb can play EXACTLY like that period all season, he's fantastic. If he loses it, then he's in the pressbox.
Bolland's line is being physical, crashing the net and creating chances and Mayers' line had the Jets hemmed in their zone the longest of any line at one point thanks to a relentless forecheck.
As for the D, I like SOD's game tonight, simple and steady, as he's been so far this season, and Hammer's played a good period as well as Keith. I still want to see more and better physical play from Seabs and Monty though.
All in all it's a pretty entertaining game, but there are other more interesting stories in the NHL tonight. John Tavares showed everyone the player he can be with a 4 point period and Aaron Asham also showed everyone the type of player he can be. His gesture following his fight was bush league. Doesn't belong in the NHL.
