So I guess we were both right...Campbell's initial refusal shows us he really didn't want to go there, and the fact that the trade happened after that is a testament to the fact that he was in fact tradeable to the Panthers.
Rarely ever does a NTC ever stop a team from eventually dealing a player.
But it did with Campbell. Twice.
Really... that stopped him from 'eventually' getting dealt?
It stopped him, yes, albeit temporarily. That's two reported times. Who knows if he refused other deals in the past, which would in fact have made him untradeable until that specific point in time when he was dealt? That's exactly my point.

6G, 2A in 3 games so far for Saad with Saginaw. If I'm Hawks' management, that's exactly the response I wanted from him after being sent down.

Speaking of prospects, anyone else notice the great starts Beach and Morin have had with Rockford?
10/20/2011 11:27 PM
Man, thank god for all these "easy" games for the Hawks.

So he is untradable until he's traded. Who can argue that logic?

Man, thank god for all these "easy" games for the Hawks.
No kidding ... have you seen their October schedule?

Flyers have played Boston, Pittsburgh, Vancouver, Washington, Ottawa, New Jersey.
Hawks played Dallas twice, Winnipeg, Boston, Phoenix, Colorado.

For comparison.

Ok I'll humor the ridiculousness of this argument a little longer. Since you like hypotheticals so much, let's imagine a league where every team is within 2 million dollars of the cap. A player with a 15 million dollar contract would be untradeable. Until that is a team frees up enough space and hires a GM willing to take him in the off-season.

In that situation, yes a player was untreadeable until he wasn't.

Absolutely. I'm thankful moy, cause otherwise they'd surely be 0-6!

Keep that post. Let's compare October's difficulty at season's end when we see where all the opponents' finish.

But that was DEFINITELY NOT the case in any season of the NHL..... and they could trade other players with bad ckntracts like olesz's back to stay under cap.

Could would should. That's BS moy. Just admit it. None of us realistically could have truly known if he was really tradeable. How do any of use know that he wasn't offered 25 times over the last two years, with draft picks, and either nixed the deal himself or it was simply refused by the other team? We don't know. That's my point. To prove a prediction true, you need proof, which is unobtainable in this case.

What matters is reality not predictions. Colorado has outplayed every team on that list so far. But I guess their schedule was easy as well right? I guess 5 road wins in a row is a fluke.

Pretty sure the hawks commentators said Colorado hadn't been tested during their 5 game win streak.... did you miss that comment?
