Schiff accuses Nunes of altering memo before sending to White House

Washington (CNN) - House Intelligence Committee ranking member Adam Schiff is accusing chairman Devin Nunes of sending a different version of the memo alleging FBI surveillance abuses to the White House than what the committee approved.

In a letter to Nunes, Schiff said that his staff discovered Wednesday evening that the memo sent to the White House was "materially different" than the version on which the committee voted.

The White House is currently reviewing the four-page classified memo after the committee voted on Monday night to make it public.

"It is now imperative that the Committee Majority immediately withdraw the document that it sent to the White House," Schiff wrote. "If the Majority remains intent on releasing its document to the public, despite repeated warnings from DOJ and the FBI, it must hold a new vote to release to the public its modified document"

A Nunes spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

actually i think schiff reminds me of a great rabbi of a congregation i ce belonged to...i think he is about as classy a guy as there is in congress.

I see the "boastful buffoon" (thanks again, Philip Roth!) is thumping his chest now about his SOTU ratings, "the highest in history, that I can tell you." Of course he's lying (according to Nielsen ratings Obama, Dubya and Clinton all had larger audiences for their first SOTU), but the bigger issue is why is Trump so insecure? He's the president now, not the host of a reality show trying to beat out So You Think You Can Dance in the 9 PM time slot.

i didnt watch it..i dont knowwhy but my tv had a stench and it would not go away until it was over.

no matter how angry or upset schiff is he speaks politely..no anger...no mockery...no hyperbole...very very articulate..erudite..educated and classy....a true public servant.

I agree with you. The only American TV news I watch is PBS News Hour and he's on there a lot. Always a good interview.
