Okay, so I started off targeting Melvin Will, John Lee, William Noah, and John Lohman. While still in the first cycle, I thought I'd take a flier on Randolph Maxie. That didn't turn out so well - he never considered me at all. Wrightflyer must've given him some legitimate recruiting effort right off the bat. Lee had three other schools on his considering list along with me, so I pumped in a little over $10k and had him to myself from the second cycle on. Also in the second cycle, seeing that Temple was on Lohman with me (Penn State came later), I thought I'd look around at every decent undecided SF in the country and see who I could get to myself if I just made some promises, seeing as how I didn't want King to be my starter. Looks like I could've gotten by with about half as much as I did spend, but I'm not going to get hung up on that. Anyways, I just let that ride until yesterday, when I offered Ward Conrad, who at the time (2 PM) I had to myself, a scholarship. Missouri showed up then, so I debated it and decided that Fernandez was the best bet to be better than he looked...plus he's a good defender. So I went with him. There was also the thing about the "word on the street," which came out at 3 AM each of the days of recruiting, if a guy was scouted. That would show how much effort had been put in to that guy, or if there was a battle, who was leading, or if it was close. Well, both Noah and Will were very open to other offers, according to that, and I knew that wasn't a good situation because they were nice players. So I bumped each up to about $6k and hoped it would be reflected quickly as a new word on the street. No dice, again, that came out at 3 AM. Before 3 AM arrived, GW got on Will. I thought I'd have a good chance at beating them for him, but wanted to wait until I'd signed all of my other guys to pump my last resources into him. I did, but those last resources (about $3,700) weren't enough to get back in front, as it turned out. GW had pulled ahead in the last day. I don't know how much more I would've needed to win that battle. That was where Henry eventually came in. I hope he works out.
Anyways, not a good situation. Oh, and I scouted Maryland, DC, Virginia, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.
I really don't know how well these guys will develop, so I can't wager an opinion or a grade on my recruiting this year. I imagine that the ranking for it won't be very good.
Anybody who might be interested in Jim Hammond can feel free to take him. I want a walk-on.

Well, well, well - guess who's recruiting class was just ranked #22 by CollegiateInsider.com? Nice job! Everybody in the Athletic Department is really excited - I think I'm even getting the administration behind what you're doing. Keep up the good work!
