I didn't see anything about an appeal, refresh me.

I'm lost too, what appeal?

The appeal... if you have a player that exclusive, he is a given a round to be picked in. Yaz in the 2nd, W.Wood in the 2nd, Splittorrf for me in the 2nd, Bob Gibson in the 5th, or Lou Brock in the 10th. You can appeal the ranking to the committee. In this case exact case, i have appealed Splittorrf being a 2nd round pick. I am not complaining by any means but simply appealing based on Gibson and Cuellar being 5th round. Cuellar had 4 more seasons of 200+ innings and i did not see that much of a difference to justify one being 2nd and the other being 5th. So as an owner, i have excerised my appeal right and have it be brought to the committe to be voted on.

I don't have a problem with Larry's placement and think they are fine. I do have a slight problem with the WIS data base and I think larry will confirm this. I was going to select a player but he wasn't in the data base and I checked with the commish on this and was told I'd have to make a decision because he wasn't in the data base. Someone else selected the player I wanted and he had appeared in the data base after my selection. So I lost out on him. The Comish knows who I am talking about but I guess there is nothing that can be done about it.

I'm fine with whatever the Comish decides but I don't think we should stop the draft.

I understand the Holtzman pick. I passed on Carlton and Blyleven to select Carew. In a damed if you damened if you don't move. Carew is the only player for years that will hit above .275 and that is assuming those guys don't get taken. Carlton and Blyleven were the deepest inning guys and bonafide #1's in this format. BUt an ace is worth nothing if no one can get on base to score runs. And so the fun begins and the chips continue to fall. Isn't it fun when the players are limited to a frnachise and a year. . . .

Like I said I have no problem at all with the Comish, it is his league and I'm glad to be in it. The player I lost I just lost but I'll survive and hopefully make him up later on.

Just an idea for future rookie drafts, but how about 2 committies of 3 (1 from each league) to help Larry determine where the rookies should be ranked. Each leagues committee can review the rookies of the other league so there wont be a conflict of interest

Larry, Ill be glad to help anyway I can
