SOS and Conf RPI needed in seeding Topic

Quote: Originally posted by doomey on 12/19/2009Agreed. That is one of my biggest beefs with WIS. They spend too much time denying and rationalizing (by usually pulling out some beyond the curve RL game or season) on things the community is, as a whole, agreed upon than improving the product as a result of that communication.

As has been mentioned numerous times across the forums, seble has done a very fine job of listening to us coaches. Much better then past administration. Doomey, you are blaming Seble for something he inherited.

And as for Conf RPI being in the seeding question, it already is in there in the form of your own RPI, why should RPI be used twice? Especially since it can be so easily manipulated.

In this world RPI 10 got a 5 seed. RPI 17 got a 7 seed and RPI 46 got a 6 seed. RPI 22 and RPI 58 both got a 9 seed. RPI 32 and 33 didn't even make the NT. RPI 57 and 58 both made it as at-large. What world is this? Answer: the real world.

Except for all of those lower conference teams that have much better records.

Again, we can't compare real life to WiS for seeding. Much of the seeding is based on the "eye" test. We can't do that here.
