This would defeat the point. The issue I have in almost every world is that I like to have 3 catchers and 3 shortstops available at each level. I dont care about offense, just a guy that can play the position for the minor league season. I normally just barely get there with catchers and come up a couple shortstops shy of my goal, even though I routinely try to draft 4-5 shortstops every season (yet always seem to only get 2 or 3 -- I suspect the draft classes are running out of them).
I think cutting dowm the amount of rounds in the draft is fine by me - i could care less about anyone drafted after round 6 or 7, and normally only sign skill position players (though if I have extra prospect money at the end of the season I may grab a few more just to fill out some inactive lists and leave me in better shape if Iget hit by a ton of retirements in the offseason).
I have a formula for the exact number of players at each position that I want at each level. I just want to be able to fill my quotas, even if it is with garbage. Give me more guys with 75-75-75-75 projected defense and 10-2-13-13-20 projected offense so I can do that.
