The Philadelphia Athletics had a fire sale after the 1914 season. They went 43-109 in 1915, and got worse in 1916, going 36-117, a worse winning percentage than the 1962 Mets. Nabors pitched 212 2/3 innings due to their desperation. He pitched only 3 innings in 1917, and never again in the majors. Without that fire sale, he never would have made the majors.
