A-Rod is always great in garbage time. So he should do just fine in this series.

HISTORY, HERE WE COME!!!

of course, now that 8 teams get to play in the post-season, and up to 15-18 games a year, as opposed to 2 playing 5-7 games back in the day, this record is pretty MON-U-MENTAL!!!

As they say, you play the cards you're dealt. Don't be a hater because Jeter plays a lot of post-season games.

Didn't know there was such a thing as "garbage time" in playoff baseball?

He's not being a hater. He's pointing out the fallacy of putting a lot of weight on career playoff records.

History is history. How important you make it is up to you.

Jeter already has the record for most outs in the postseason.

I would guess that Jeter probably holds the record for losing the most playoff games in history too.

Does that make him the WORST SS EVAH?!?!?!

Like they say about the 20 games losers. He must be doing something right to get so many opportunities.

Like Jack Nabors?

Yes. You don't get 200 IP unless someone thinks you can get the job done.

The Philadelphia Athletics had a fire sale after the 1914 season. They went 43-109 in 1915, and got worse in 1916, going 36-117, a worse winning percentage than the 1962 Mets. Nabors pitched 212 2/3 innings due to their desperation. He pitched only 3 innings in 1917, and never again in the majors. Without that fire sale, he never would have made the majors.

So no one thought he could get the job done? That they could pick a guy stuffing his face with a hot dog in the third row to do a comparable job? Is that your contention?

THAT ANYONE OF LEGAL AGE COULD HAVE DONE AS WELL AS NABORS? IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE SAYING!??!??!

I thought Jim Nabors had teh aids.
