He's awfully comparable to this guy, whom I took a flyer on as a sandwich pick and then had his projections juiced as a DiTR.

In nine seasons in the minors, he's pitched 184 innings in 162 appearances. That's mostly as a closer using the AI recs. It's possible to maximize him by setting his pitch count below the recommended 20-20, but I don't always remember to do that. But even when I do, he still gets tired easily and takes forever to recover.

It was a happy accident that I actually tried to utilize one of these type of guys. Yamid Salinas was a waiver wire pickup playing for the league minimum (he had been released by his original owner). I found him to be pretty useful in a limited role at the ML. I put him as a closer with a 15-20 pitch count and set my manager settings to only use the closer in save situations. He had one bad outing that inflated his ERA. Other than that, he was really good (great WHIP) in that role.

Of course, your guy has much better splits (if he gets close) and might be even more effective.

Weird story related to guys like this. I once had a guy with long-relief stamina but durability of either 0 or 1. I brought him to the big leagues, and used him in a spot start right away. Guy threw a 9-inning perfect game in his first ML start.

Unfortunately he couldn't be used again for about 30 days due to the durability. Luckily, someone in my World was impressed enough by the perfect game that they offered me a trade for him, which I happily accepted.
