wow. incredible deal. if eric davis can draw that much, what the hell, let me put it out there: any and everything the pirates have (including my next pick, which is 26th overall) is available. please hit me up with offers. i'm simply looking for multiple picks....the bucs need a lot of help.

I think the number of picks we have and the multitude of good players available makes a player like Davis a major piece to add. In the end he sent me the player who Davis supplanted in the of and a RP whose rep is better than his numbers this year. Good but not great. Without the draft pick I would not make this deal though. In the end I think I get more value while Boston gets the better singular piece.

brian, did you say that papelbon didn't have a great year? i'll give you this: he wasn't 06 papelbon, but he was well north of "good" in 09. there's no shame in saying that you got a helluva deal.

His year was good no doubt but his reputation had him better in my mind. When I fist received the trade I was shocked, then I looked and saw his year and said good but not vintage "papelbon"

I should just shut up.
