I'm assuming he means new coaches (to Wooden) get full points for a few WCAA appearances.

it was a joke. snuck it in there to see if anyone was paying attention. this thread was started when we were discussing reward points in the 'resurrection thread'.

was thinking about offering free beer, but there's already enough of us dirty drunks in wooden as it stands.

Can't resist the urge to chime in - there are some nice jobs in the NESCAC too!

NESCAC is #9 this season in conference RPI despite, ahem, 10 sim teams.

But the two human coaches there (dtd95 at Middlebury and me at Amherst, under bluespruce1) are both committed to sticking around.

Sim-coached Wesleyan is 19-3 and sim-coached Trinity is 18-3 (with a junior class containing a whopping 7 players).

But despite lesser current records, Worcester State and Bowdoin are probably the most attractive openings - both with lots of very solid players recruited by humans over the last few seasons and *currently* decent prestige (Worcester State at B+, Bowdoin at B-).

They're all just waiting for a nice human to take them home. :)

I'm very tempted to join. I've had the most fun with HD in active DIII worlds/conferences. I'm not looking to add any more teams though and I can't get myself to drop any current ones. Iba DIII has slowly been dieing but there is still some good longtime coaches around and my conference is mostly full with good guys. If more of the "lifers" leave and Upstate starts turning into a ghost town I might make the jump. It would be hard to leave Washington though. I've been coaching them for almost 5 years!

I would encourage everyone to join D3 Wooden. The competition year-in and year-out is fantastic.

damn, i forgot. i was going to try and recruit you last season. Oldave was leaving us and figured if we got his "boyfriend" from IBA to join us he might stick around.

Either way, i dont know if you guys are pals, or have a love/hate relationship or what. But if you do join wooden, it gives you a chance to go one up on him. He just couldn't turn out an above average season in wooden. If you were to have some success it would definitely give you some ammo in one of the longest rivalries in HD (washington vs SUNY, oneota). Crap, i would have to say that IS the longest rivalry in HD.

Never really thought about our rivalry compared to other HD rivalries. We have been trying to beat the crap out of each other since the beginning of time it seems like. My 1st season in Iba (season 5) was oldave's 2nd and our teams met in a PI. He beat me but I didn't forget and challenged him to an exhibition game the next season and got my revenge. I've been kicking his *** every season since!

polo, if I ever decide to join wooden you'll be the 1st to know!

Yes come and one up him im leaving a quality program open last years champs to rebuild in a fuller conf.

NT starts tonight, so about a week .

Through this thread we've already had 5 teams reserved for next season. Lets get a few more. The conference to try and fill up is the Empire8.

i have a d2 team currently in wooden i think, but im terrible. the problem with wooden is that its a 1 day a game world, and it'll take me a year (literally) in real life to be competitive. i do like full worlds, but trying to fill a D3 world in Knight or Phelan or another 2 games a day world is just so much better. its unbearable having to lose 20 games your first year and it taking 6 months to have a shot at the postseason.

check out McMurray in the ASC. got a few long term coaches in there too. . .. plus there's a few other solid teams available to take over.

Rochester Tech is reserved by me...Major changes to the young club will have to take place...but all in all they look like they could be a competitive bunch
11/19/2009 9:23 AM
Mcmurry will be available and I hope to have them as back to back champs for whomever takes over
