mmt, no way that LeBron and Wade play together in Miami. They might play together but I'd be surprised if it is in Miami.
Put it this way. DWade isnt leaving. I personally dont think Lebron is leaving either. But if he does there are only two places for him to go: Miami or the Clippers. Both those teams have sufficient cap space and neither is in the mess the Knicks are in. Everybody loves talking about Lebron to the Knicks, but why would he go there? They need him but he doesn't need them. Also, its not like the Knicks are some storied NBA franchise, those are the Celtics and the Lakers. Further, I can't see him going to the Clippers because of their franchises crap history. The Heat have enough money to sign three maxed out contracts. Wade understands what Riley has done since trading Shaq and he's not going anywhere. Lebron wants to win titles and with those two and Bosh they'd be an unstoppable force.
Again, my hunch is he resigns with Cleveland since they can offer him the most money and he seems like a loyal guy. But dont count of Riley's abilities as a GM and the possibility that show time is coming to South Beach!
The Heat can't carry three max contracts, which are each going to start at 17-18 mil for Wade/Bron/Bosh. If Wade opts out they'll have 40-45 mil to play with. That scenario would also leave them with only four players under contract, two of whom suck. So here's your lineup if you luck into lurring one of Bosh or James and keep Wade.
Chalmers
Wade
Beasley
Lebron/Bosh
random mid-level dude (camby?)
Bench - 2010 1st round pick, Daquean Cook, James Jones, and a handful of minimum salary scrubs
That lineup is a major injury away from the lottery, and still not good enough to challenge elite teams in the NBA. I think Miami would be better off surrounding Wade with an actual basketball team.
