The good news is that some other owners are now speaking up demanding information, so that's a start. It's not one against the world anymore. I'm not out to get anybody at this point, we just deserve to know what is going on. If it's all legit, I have no problem with it. I don't care about having family or friends in a league, I just think it needs to be done out in the open.

A veto is the most effective tool in preventing "family/friends" from messing with the competitive balance of a world. Of course, if only a handful of owners care, you can't change the world.

Sadly, this is very true.

good world chat in there

There has been much talk about this world, so here's our view:hartjh14 has been convinced there is cheating in this world both before this season started and during the season. We have asked for specific trades to evaluate but he has never provided any.We spent some time earlier in the week looking at the data we have access to. Some red flags were raised and this fact was indicated to hartjh14.  We reviewed the current season and the last two seasons looking for lopsided trades between the users that may have been the same person. We could not find any such behavior. We have stated this in the world chat to alleviate concerns some owners may have.Is there cheating going on? Perhaps. But all we can do is rely on the data we have available. It's not right to strip folks of teams when there is no evidence of cheating. And remember, there are times when two different owners having the same billing information can be legit -- relatives (father, son), roommates, friend paying to get another friend into the game, etc.We have the trade veto system in place so owners can veto trades they feel are lopsided.  Many, many owners take advantage of this and trades are shot down every day.We research leagues all the time for aliases and cheating.  We sometimes find it is going on, but many times it is not. There are 100+ worlds going on. If one person has a problem with many of the owners in the world, that person should consider moving to another world. Just because you think cheating is going on in a world doesn't mean there is. And if anyone has evidence to bring to our attention, we are ALWAYS happy to review it and take action when necessary.

By the way, the support ticket referenced in this thread was not posted in its entirety.

At this point, I'd like to add "Show ADMIN your results."

Also include, "accuse everybody who makes a trade you don't like of being an alias."

How about I include "Get your panties in a wad because you don't unnerstands the innernets"?

Hey, you have to respect Admin for coming on and saying his piece.

The problem in GD was that the "action" they took appeared to consist of calling the wife to see if they needed to stop at the store and pick up anything on the way home ... or write a guideline so vague it was utterly transparent. Cheating in any form never appeared to result in any consequences to the cheater. That's one part of why I GD. WIS needs to make an atmosphere where it is understood that cheating will simply be the end of the line for the cheater, period. It might cost them a little but of business, but the type of user it would cost them isn't one they should be catering to anyway. And a reputation for running a clean site would bring in more business from a more desirable level of clientele.

Very interesting world chat reading. Hart, you are fighting the good fight. Keep it up! WIS needs to take cheating more seriously than they do. I suggest a mass ticket campaign from your world members demanding the truth. I've seen it work previously.
11/20/2009 7:14 PM
We are doing that.
11/20/2009 7:47 PM
OK, read the chat. An owner has already asked if I'd be interested in joining when they roll. If there are 5-6 openings and I can get enough people I "trust" to join, I'd consider joining and cleaning up that 'tardfest.

Any takers?
