Since last season was played at the higher salaries preceding the WIS upgrade, it may be advisable to bring cap down by 10M to 110M as to pair our champs versus 100M guys at the TOC ...

1994 Atlanta Braves

i am adding teddy ballgame to the middle of that lineup..should be an interesting time

1994 Braves is an awesome selection that could be well supplemented by a strong bat like Ted's (or the Babe's) to a line up led by Fred McGriff. Names in the starting rotation like Maddux, Glavine, Avery, and Smoltz should put fear into an adversary's line up! And when checking http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams, I see a twistable Greg Olson with only 14.2 IP, ready to supplement relievers like Greg McMichael, Mark Wohlers, and Steve Bedrosian ...

Although, as you suggested during a chat, I also would be tempted to twist Smoltz to his best season as an SP (96) ...

Welcome aboard caman!

82 Brewers? ... Good pick, caman ... Back in 1982, a 216 HR's and .279 team batting average was something to brag about ... If your batting average was low, then you were a guy that hit 30+ home runs! ... My recommended twist up for a position player is Larry Hisle, 1977 with the Twins looking as his best year! ... Hiding with 2.2 IP is Doug Jones (see http://www.baseball-reference.com/), who seemed to be at his best with 1992's Astros ...

Thanks Gus...I am aware of Mr. Hisle, but I like 1978 better.

Another good choice! ... 78 Hisle has higher OBP and more HR's .... We'll be watching out for you! ...

I need 4 more people to pick their teams before I can set up mine and get a league number!

Wonder if the exclusion of WS teams should be lifted in order to attract more teams owners to this league ...

It's possible that many don't want to do the research into non WS teams, but with Baseball-Reference it's really not that hard. I would think not having to face the 27 or 39 Yankees would be a plus. I was trying to get a little more diverse selection in there.

Agree ... one team that did not make it to the WS in 2009 was the St Louis Cardinals ... I figure if they had one more SP, like Pedro or Maddux at their peaks and twist two of the others ...
